  2. Dear K Chin, K Chin wrote: Since the shape of objects affect the luck, health and wealth of a person or apartment, do the shape and the color of a sofa have any effect on luck orhealth ? In general, you have to always rank what is important. ie. If in a room, then the colour of the room and the key furniture colours will affect the overall feng shui of the room. The other smaller objects will play only a smaller role. Therefore, generally the colour of the sofa will play the greatest influence for the element of the sofa, followed by the material and the shape of the sofa. K Chin wrote: Also, there are only 2 places that I will spend most of my time when I am at home - i.e. bedroom and sofa in the living room.Does that mean, the position of the sofa is kind of important - from the feng shui point of view ? For instance, its location, away from front door ? avoid light beaming onto itetc. In general, it depends on how many people will using the sofa/bed. For example, if you are alone, then positioning it in the best direction that fit your own eight house will be good for you. When there are two or more person then using this suitability to find one which fits both person will be harder. Therefore, it is always best to place it based on the best shapes and form arrangement according to the room. So ideally, you should try to place it where there is no poison arrow from the corner that cuts to where you are sitting, or the sofa should not be under an exposed beam.As there are many other shapes and forms issues, so hard to list every one as each situation is unqiue. But generally, if you avoid this two key flaws and if possible choose the best facing direction when you sit, that would be the most ideal placement. Hope that helps. 5. Dear Users, We understand that our 30-Days Auspicious for TWO Persons was extremely popular and is used by many people every day. As such, we have updated it so that it is easier to generate the report for One person. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-dateboth.htm We have revised the module so that it will automatically detect whether 2nd person's information is different or left empty. The report will then generate One person or Two person report. When the report is generated for 1 person, the 2nd profile information will be hidden away. In the past, you have to enter the same information for the 2nd person in order to generate the auspicious date for 1. Now,you DO NOT need to enter the same information for the 2nd profile in order to generate an auspicious date for 1 person. All you need to do is skip the 2nd profile information. We also included this auspicious date report into our Member Area so that allmembers can also acces the auspicious report from the member area. In addition, we also updated the paid report with the similiar feature. This way there is only 1 module to generate the same report for One Person or Two Person(s). We have thus removed the older paid auspicious date for One person. Hope you enjoy the changes! Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

  7. Dear SF Choe, sf choe wrote: Thank you very much, Robert, for confirming Period 8 for my house. Based on that, I had done the Flying Stars Chart and came up with 5m 5t 8w at SW sector. What does this mean because I got frightened seeing the double 5 there. My house is facing SW1 but my main door is tilted in the West Sector facing SW3 (235 degrees). Also,my Centre Palace has the star combo 2m 8t 5w, again I got scared seeing the 2-5 combo! Normally, if there is star 5's and star 2's occur on the same sector. It will spell trouble. But in your case, it is a period 8 house, so the star 2 and star 5 when paired with a star 8, will actually be good for the star 8 as it will neturalise the effects of the star 2/5 and actually make the star 8 which is auspicious stronger so neturalising some of the negative effects (not completely but lesser). Furthermore, the center area in the house should be kept neutral. So for that sector you should just leave it neutral or empty. Just avoid bright yellow (earth) or bright red (fire)colours if possible for both rooms. For the SW sector if it is an important room (ie bedroom/main door), you should still neturalise the star 5 with the Metal (ie 6 coins or painting the room white). Avoiding bright yellow/bright red. In fact, a toilet located close (ie at the side or on top) to the main entrance will tend to like dirty the Qi that enters into the house. Also, if the toilet is located at the top, it means there will be higher chance of a pipe leak that will again not be good (smell wise) and look for the main door. Or pricing it right or to keep the place clean. In terms of feng shui, you can try to improve some of your luck such as to improve your ba zi element suitability. Or if the unit that is for sale/rent has good feng shui features, you can attempt to make use of that point to help in the sale. I haven't done a full analysis, but like you mentioned if based on the basic chart info (without considering any seasons clashes/harms/combination etc), it would seem that you only have 4 water, 3 metal, 1 earth. So generally, if you have more Wood, Fire or Earth it will balance your life. Since five element, can be related to your home, colours, career, the more areas in your life which is favourable the better. You can refer to this link for some key five element and relationship. May I enquire was the house assesed as period 7 or period 8. Usually if the house was assessed as a period 7, Cecil would have advised you if there is a need to shift over to the next period. Only if there is a major need to shift to the next 20-year luck period, then some changes or review is necessary. Feel free to contact Cecil directly should you need any clarifications. When you mentioned the bed is in the same alignment of the main door, do you mean that it is anchored to the wall where the main door is located? This means the window is opposite the bed. If I got the above correct, then ideally, the best placement is where you seleep, you can see the door. The purpose is so that if anyone enters, you will know or be aware of it. In the past, this is especially so that one can take precaution especially if it is a thief entering. However, if there is no other way to place the bed, then probably you do not have much choice anyway. This placement is not the most ideal placement if there is an alternative arrangement. But if there is no other option, then you can only attempt to improve the luck by improving the colour scheme of room to enhance the suitability of the room. Hope that helps. The application of Flying Star is very flexible depending on your overall objectives. 1. The most common objective is to assess the interior of the house (ie for best furniture arrangement, colour scheme for each room, water features etc. So in such cases, you are looking for where is your main door frontage etc. Such as the most common way:- ie. Apartment (2nd - 7th level), you take the main door ie. Apartment (8 level & up), you take the living room/balcony ie. Landed Property, you take the facing of the building This already allows you to assess the interior home luck as well some of the external surrounding. 2. The other method you mentioned based on the book you read, is focused on like the sitemap/plot of land view which is used more on a greater level of assessing one plot of land compared to another. So it is uses it slightly different purpose. 3. In general, unless you are checking two different location to see which is better, then you can consider using that surrounding assessment just to see which is better using the method in para 2. 4. Otherwise, most of the users already bought the home, and will be more interested in correcting or improving your existing home, thus the most important factor will be using the method in para 1. I do personally feel that it is not advisable. A bedroom should be quiet for good night rest. That is why bedroom is usually classified as Yin. With activities from fishes swiming or the light in the aquarium all these creates more yang. So not really good for bedroom. The more scientific reason would be the water in the fish tank tends to have a certain type of fishy smell, plus depending on the fish some fish/water featuremay make some noise. These two reasons are why I say it is notgood for anyone wanting a good night rest. As such, fish tank/aquarium is best place in non-bedroom (it study room ok but not bedroom for sleeping), or usually better in the living room. However, I do believe that for very small fish bowl or tank probably the impact is not that noticable. If you do not find any major issues sleeping, then I guess not too big an issue. However, still not recommended where possible. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET for Applied Feng Shui Research
  15. Dear K H Lee, K H Lee wrote: Ihave a question onthe season of birth. The northern and southern hemisphere have different season cycle,e.g. Winter in the north is actually Summer in the south.Does that mean the analysis on the month pillar needs to map to thegeographical season accordingly? say, if I am born in december inthe southern hemisphere, my season of birth is Summerand Fire is strong.. but if bornin december in the northern hemisphere, theseasonis Winterand Wateris strong. So, which season cycle to use for the analysis if I am born in the South? Thank you. To my understanding, the difference in the Northern and Southern Hemisphere seasons is notthat of a reversed season but rather of a seasonlag of 6 months. ie.Winter NH - 21 Dec, SH - 21 Jun ie. Spring NH - 21 Mar, SH - 21 Sep ie. Summer NH - 21 Jun, SH - 21 Dec ie. Autumn NH - 22 Sep, SH - 22 Mar So it is not really that the seasons is revered. But rather than if you stay nearer to the North - Winter comes earlier, while if you stay nearer to the South - Winder comes later. So it is more of a seasons shift of about 6-months rather than the cycle being completely reversed. To be frank, if youreally want to factor this influence, this means you need to have a time shift in all the concepts for 6-months in order to properly align the concepts without affecting the full analysis. However, from the many cases that I have done, I find that the analysis we done can still accurately predict most of the key events. Which tells me that the is really no real need to make any changes to the concept. The reason to me is that the feng shui principles in the ba zi or flying star etc. Has been so well thought out that the main goal is to make sense of the situation ie how each pillar relates to one or another. And the current definition and harmony of the yin & yang, five element, 10- heavenly stem, 12 earthly branch, 10-year cycle, 20-year, 60-year cycle, clashes, combinations are so well balanced that, it is using how each pilar balance themselves out that give you all the various interpretations. Thus, I find that having seen so many different variations in many feng shui concepts so far. However, I noticed one thing is that irregardless of the different concepts used, as long as the practitioner or master uses all the concepts together, they eventually balance out each other's inaccuracy and flaws and making suggesting the right solution possible. And that is why most of the good masters (even if there are difference in some of the theories they learnt), can still give a very good forecast and make correct changes. This is because the final analysis is ultimately how the chart balance out itself. So if I were to logically shift the feng shui concepts 6 months ahead ie. The ba zi chart which is ultimately made up of 4 main pillars, will have the heavenly stem and earthly branch properly shifted into place that the analysis result which is based on overall balance of the various factors together will not make that great of a difference. This is probably the reasons why many consultant including myself feel that really there is no need to make any changes to the concepts. To me personally, I feel that if you really want to consider this then all the concepts needs to altered to compensate for the delay. Which frankly means a completely new set of feng shui concepts for the South. As it is most people don't even fully understand the Feng Shui concepts. I really don't know how accurate it will be when they attempt to factor all these differences into the exact southern hemisphere differences. Only when such a concept is really perfected, and you do a exact comparison will one be able to say for sure if this is really necessary. For now, I still see very good results for cases we done without alternating the concepts. So my view is not really necessary.I find that being able to properly interpret the results from the overall concepts interacting with each otheris what makes a good analysis from a lousy one. 16. Dear Roeland, Roeland de Looff wrote: However, say if the day is originally wood, and the combination convert it to fire. The birth element will not change from wood to fire. It will remain as Wood, but he will have lost the Wood element property. Yes, this is only for when the Heavenly Stem of the Day has combination. Heavenly Stem of the Day will represent what element the birth chart is consisdered. For example if it is like you mentioned Wood, this person is considered born in a Wood element day. So when there is such a combination, what will happen is in the five element chart, the person will lose 1 wood, and gain 1 fire. However, the person will still be a Wood element not suddenly changed to a Fire element. This is because he is still born in a Wood element day. Roeland de Looff wrote: Could you clarify what it means that the day will remain as Wood, but has lost the Wood element property. This concept is a bit hard to understand. How can Wood loose the Wood element property? So what I mean is his birth element will remain a Wood (even though the day pillar would have loss the wood property due to the combination). However, in his balance of the element, he would have loss 1 wood, and gain 1 fire. That means that say if the day pillar is the only wood element in the entire chart. That means that he would have 0 wood in his five element. However, he is still a Wood element person. Not a Fire element person. This means he would more likely be a weak wood (if the water percentage isn't a lot). Hope this explanation makes it clearer. It was suggested in the auspicous dates section that I should wear my favorable elements on the inauspicious days. My favorable elements are wood, earth and fire. My reasoning is that I should wear earth color on an inauspicious fireelement day since earth reducesfire. Am I reasoning correctly? Generally, when a day is inauspicious, it normally means that there are either some conflict between the day and the year and with your ba zi or suitability. So it is not necessary directed directly at your own individual element or suitability. The reason why it asks you to wear more of your colours, is because once you can balance up your luck or chart, any clashes to you will be minimised. 22. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am new to this website. Just curious whether are our destinies(study, career, marriage, etc...)set when we are born? Are we able to change or accept them as it is???? In general, under feng shui there is Heaven, Earth, Human luck. So under the heaven luck, it is often said that the kind of luck a person is supposed to have is generally pre-determined. However, since there are still two more factors Earthluck and Human luck, these two can still help to alter some of the given luck. For example, a good Earth luck can make an inauspicious 10-year luck better than it is predicted in the ba zi. Good Human luck ie having good relationship with your boss, can make your career path smoother. So these can make it better than the predicted luck. So that means that your given is generally pre-destined. However, you can still make the best of it depending on your Earth and Human luck. Hope that helps. Here is a question: The house I am looking at right now is the correct gua number for me. My number is 8 and the house number is 1151, which equals 8. You helped me with how to do this in my previous question. My question is this: Is is more important to be in a house with the appropriate gua number or is it more important to have the house in one of the four good directions - if the two are different (i.e. -the gua is good, but the direction is not so good). With my gua as 8, the house number equalling 8, the direction is barely NE of the main door. I will find out exactly the degrees. But, is this ok? To have a good gua number, and not worry about the direction? Or vice versa? Thank you in advance. In general, the auspicious house number has least influence over the house. It probably will affect the resale value of the house. For example houses with 4 will find it harder to sell simply because most buyers will avoid 4 (die in cantonese). Compared to a house number that is 8, most people will often choose this first, thus easier to sell. So you should go for a more suitable facing as that will impact how much luck you can get from the house. The more suitable the house, your luck will generally be better and thus, things will go well for you. So always go for the better more suitable and better location houses as these will ultimately be more important than house number. You should only look at house number when you have two units which are good and not sure which to go. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET- Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Does that mean I took the wrong career? If I only consider your career suitability, yes probably cartoonist, illustrator and graphic novelist will be considered weater element and so not suitable for you. However, there are many areas in your life (ie your house suitability/element, your career, the colours/element you wear, the people around you, your own luck period etc). Of which the house will have the greatest amount of luck. So if you want to have water career, then you need to make sure you have at least a Wood house (ie East facing etc). And have peple around you which is wood or earth element. Ultimately, it is attaining a balance. If you can get enough elements to exhaust the excess water, it will still be possible to have a water element career. I'm a Singaporean by the way for your infomation and I'm a bit confused whether or not to use our local time. In general, we find that most of the modern concepts about applying the time zone factor isn't the right way to apply location factor into the bazi. ie the time zone is so simplified now that, it is no longer accurate furthermore, it only applies to one aspect of location. The only true way is to apply the long. and lat of place of birth. However, even this, I find that it is flawed. Reason being who will really record the exact long. and lat. of birth. I mean even in a hospital, do you know that that even if you give birth in different rooms, the long. and lat. will be very different? This means that even 1 degree off, will completely make the chart even less accurate than without considering this factor. And if you know how the ba zi works, the month pillar is ultimately what defines most of the luck period. While the hour pillar only helps to determine if a element is weak or strong. In general, only a few hour in the day will affect the weak/strong. Otherwise, the rest only affects the accuracy on determining what kind of characteristics a chart might have (ie strong wealth, power & authority etc). And it was designed to be calculated even if you do not have the hour of birth, so hour of birth is often not really necessary to have a fair prediction of what is your given luck. So because of these many reasons, we find that really there is no need to apply any changes to the original concepts, thus just use your local time of birth. So in general, the impact isn't as great as what most people think it will be. No changes necessary. Desmond Woo wrote: And last but not least, I would like to ask you if people born in the year of the monkey, is it true that he/she is not suitable to wear blue tiger-eye stones as in the Chinese Zodiac, the monkey actually oppose the tiger. The reason most people say this will be because Tiger clashes with Monkey under the zodiac sign. However, as mentioned time and time again, true feng shui is about harmonising yourself to the environment. Most of the time it is about finding the most suitable house, best direction etc. Most of the items that are being promoted as feng shui enhancers are generally not really so. Most of these items if any only enhances the human luck. ie if it makes you feel good, no harm in wearing them. But one must understand that there is really not special powers on such items that really affect you. These are all mostly symoblic representations of good or bad only based on the different concepts. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Reseach
