  1. Dear Madi, In my opinion, this is a Shapes and Form weakness. Equally important, is that the property should not be `entrapped' i.e. surrounded by taller buildings on all sides and particularly where they are at higher ground. It is a site feature and very little one can do here. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  2. Dear Allan, On an intuitive level, (without) detailed Pillars of Destiny or FS analysis; you can: 1. determine what is your present `LUCK' in the existing home. 2. If you have found a `better' home, or feel that you have found a better one then your existing home. In such a situation, you can try to move residence ASAP. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  3. Dear Johnny, Thanks for bring up this interesting question: 1. When we talk about wealth area, it is good to look at macro Feng Shui. 2. In macro Feng Shui, the traditional way is to look at a land where the dragon Qi can flow from within the land mass towards the sea. 3. For example, many Chinese cities were built where the dragon Qi flows towards the sea. 4. Such as a river, which can be considered a dragon where it flows from high above and merge with the sea. 6. This is truly considered the `wealth area' where populations, can grow and `create wealth'. 7. For Hong Kong, many buildings especially if they are at the mouth of the sea, have a clear opening to allow such a dragon flow from the land mass towards the sea. 8. The question asked for micro Feng Shui is: 8.1. If it so easy to determine one's wealth corner in the home, how is it that many of us are still confused and still shaking our head to try and find this wealth corner? 8.2. How is it that there is no specific book that is written purely on `Location of Wealth' Sector. If such a book exist i.e. either it is not real or the author would try to make it even more ambiguious and many people who having read the book would ask the same question as you do... ' How do we locate where the wealth area is? '. 8.3. Traditional FS is about the 5 elements concept and the balance of it at all sectors. 9. A more commonsense approach is to try to score as much marks in all areas of Feng Shui instead of relying on hearsay comments ie.. " Dear Friend, Your wealth area is opposite your main door. " We often hear many FS practitioners provide such an advise. 10. It is because most of us want to hear this.. and may not take kindly to a practitioner that says... " I really do not know where your wealth area/sector " is. Perhaps, it is more comforting to hear from a practitioner that he had found the wealth area / or sector. If the practitioner says otherwise, unfortunately many of us, do not want to listen to the TRUTH. For those who believe strongly in wealth area/sector... please continue to believe it... In my opinion, we should maximize our FS instead of placing such `silly notions'. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  4. Dear Elizabeth, Usually, in most cases, the incidence of cancer may be associated with under water courses (hidden) below the ground. Check out this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/fs/under.htm Usually hanging crystals may not be a good solution. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  5. Dear Eoin, 1. Although some FS books e.g. author Evelyn Lip had mentioned, certain directions associated with certain occupations. 2. In others, for example, since metal (metal coins) are associated with banking, it was said that Banking outlets should face the `Metal' direction e.g. West or NW. 3. Again, it is said that since South represents `Fire'; business associated with Marketing / Sales should face this direction. 4. In real life, I believe it would be naive to simply look at the `best position' or rather best direction of the front door and associate it with any business. 5. Rather, the front door, should be looked at in relation to the whole business premises. 6. For example, I know of this real life situation of this new condominum where the owner of the supermarket (within the condominum) had perhaps cited their main entrance `wrongly'. Instead of using their main entrance which can be accessible by all, they sited the main entrance within the `secured' controlled gate premises. Here, it made it so inconvienent for their customers to go into their shop house. I wonder how long this shop would last. It may be poor foresight as they had already situated their cashier's counter and it is very much harder for them to resite it without affecting the flow or movement of the supermarket. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  6. This is a short write-up on the legend of the Three-legged toad. Which I had included in the Poll of the Three-legged toad:- There are two versions to the legend of the Three-legged toad:- 1. A Chinese Immortal Lui Hai was said to live in the era of the Sung dynasty in the province of Shensi. According to legend, he was the general who successfully fought off Lord Liu (Master of the Sea Toad). To this a statute of Immortal Lui Hai with his three-legged Toad is considered the symbol for money-making. 2. A second version: Legend has it that there was once a Toad which lived in a deep well and emitted poisonous vapors. Immortal Lui Hai lured the creature with a string of gold cash and killed it. 3. More: Often one sees the Chinese God of Wealth being carried in a procession (festive occasions) together with an image of the three-legged Toad. The association with the God of Wealth (Tau Pei Kong) linked the three-legged Toad with wealth. Hope the above will help everyone to better understand the `origins' of why so much commercialization went into this Chinese belief. The three toad has now become a commercial object and things link a coin and `jewel' added to its mouth etc... Therefore, one can now clearly understand that there is no direct link between the three-legged toad with Feng Shui. The recommended placement of a three-legged toad is on the same wall as the main entrance (next to it) facing into the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  7. Dear Karen, At most, without going into detailed FS audit, we have to apply intuitive FS or FS by feel here. You may have to honestly access the situation on your own i.e. did you have a better sleep after painting it to this new colour? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  8. Dear Diane, Can I confirm? 55 gallons of water? This is quite alot of water. Based on the mountain and water concept, where mountain should be behind the house and water at the frontage, it would be advantages for water to be at the front of the house (providing clear space). If an aquarium is at knee height or higher, this would not be advantages to be placed at the front of the home as it no longer allows for clear space. Too much water in relation to the home is not ideal. Especially if the area of the aquarium exceeds 50 percent of the floor area of the home. For a weak water person, adding metal element would be much better than adding water. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  9. Dear Diane, 1. Black colour represents the water element. 2. It is acceptable for a weak water person to be assocated with Black (or blue or grey) the colours identified with Water element. 3. Usually wrought iron beds the exposed area (in my opinion) does not have that much of an impact on the environment of the room as most parts of it is not seen. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  10. Dear Lynne, You can find a picture of the Three-Legged Toad under:- http://my.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/imagefolio.cgi?direct=Interior_Decorations/The_Three_Legged_Toad Under the following link, you can find a poll on the Three-Legged frog in this website. The actual poll and current results can be found under this link:- http://www.geomancy.net/polls/polls-threelegged.htm I believe, you can easily purchase, the decorative item from many of the Feng Shui emporiums dotting the internet. In my opinion, one should treat the Three-Legged Toad, merely as a decorative item. There is nothing mystical about this object. In past forum messages, I mentioned abit of the history of the three-legged toad. Please do a search in this forum for " toad " to find out more... Warmest Regards, Cecil
  11. Dear Donna, In my opinion, when building a new home, the front door is not the only consideration. Serious consideration should also go towards the entire house taking into consideration the external environment, the site and the land. For the main door, it is best or advantages if it is an excellent location for the breadwinner. For other members of the family (even if one owns the plot of land); try to look at locations where it can be excellent or good for them especially in the bedroom area. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  12. Dear Diane, How to activate a mountain star:- 1. Even if a mountain star can be found, it cannot be activated in all areas. For example, if a mountain star is found at the frontage of the house such as the main entrance door area or at the front of the house. Preferably it should not be activated at the centre-point of the house or centre of the house. 2. For effective activating of a mountain star: 2.1. It can be at the backdoor or in a room especially the back room of the house. 2.2. It can be activated (if found) at the back wall of the interior of the home. 2.3. It should be activated where there is a wall behind it. Here, there can be a shelf where the object to activate the mountain star can be placed. Common items used to activate mountain star is e.g. a solid brass turtle paper weight or other objects that have `solid' mass and does not have wheels such as a decorative rock item. Please see below:- Yes, without further analysis, you can use a wrought iron bed. Generally what is more imporant is the colour scheme as the wrought iron bed will have lesser of an impact since, the bed mattress will be placed on it. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  13. Dear Johnny, 1. If one uses a Ba Gua mirror, it should have a convex mirror at the centre (e.g. like those placed at car park blind spots. It should not be concave as this is meant to `absorb' rather than deflect. 2. For your mum's room, ideally, you could use curtains. For example, two layers of curtain i.e. day curtain and night curtain. In the day time, day curtain could be used to shield against this poison arrow. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  14. Dear Hoang, Frankly, Feng Shui does not have all the answers to having good grades. There are many other factors involved such as your personal interest in your studies and more crucial, your `study' techniques and concentration. Personally, I find having a group of regular friends to `work with' or provide encouragement to. But it may differ in your medical studies. -- Give some thought. Since you are a student, you should continue to find a location that you really find comfortable in e.g. your studies or assignments. In the bedroom, when you really need to rest make the room conducive to a good night's rest. Usually thru the play of lighting and curtains. Sometimes, you may seriously consider having a fixed table in your bedroom to study in the day. Wishing you all the best in your studies... My advise is that try your best to adopt the best approach in studies that will suite you. I personally feel that, having good grades may include, taking interest in the course and at the same time, constant review / understanding of the course materials and in many instances, taking the approach i.e. using questions e.g. such as in past year papers also. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  15. Dear Judy, Based on Feng Shui, one has to try and protect `entrances': 1. Entrances such as the main entrance door and windows. 2. In your situation, determine whether, the broken tree stump is now a `sha qi': 2.1 Stand at the main entrance or the window(s) especially if the tree stump is tangent or `cut's across or slice thru the main entrance or a window. 2.2 If, the above is true; then, it is best to try and take immediate action as soon as possible, such as `cutting' down the rest of the tree and remove the roots. 2.3 If the tree stump does not cut thru the window or main entrance, then, you can take your time to uproot or remove the tree especially if it no longer could grow i.e. a dead tree. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  16. Dear Madi, Thanks for some of your clarifications. 1. Are the drains coverable? It would not be ideal for the drain water to flow from west to east or remain stagnant. 2. Currently what is the distance between the drain and the main entrance? 3. Is the drain parallel to the front entrance? 4. Are there now plants outside the main entrance. If so, how many plants and how large are they? Are they planted or in pots. Thanks. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  17. Dear Janaki, From a Shapes and Form point of view under Feng Shui, yes, it is inauspicious to have a toilet door facing the main entrance. This is usually a fundamental flaw and difficult to correct. The only option to REDUCE the effect is to see if the toilet door can be `partitioned' away from the view of the main entrance. Try as we might, sometimes it is difficult to `cure' fundamental flaws in the house. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  18. Dear Roasline, Here are some guidelines to the placement of an ancestor's tablet:- 1. Avoid placing it immediately facing the front entrance (main door). Here, the implication is that it is disrespectful to let an ancestor become the guardian of the house. 2. Avoid placing it facing a toilet or on the same wall as the toilet. 3. If possible, avoid placing it in the kitchen. 4. Try to find some place in the living room area. Preferably facing outwards i.e. facing an open window (if you can). Warmest Regards, Cecil
  19. Dear Madi, 1. How long is your uncle's restaurant business at this premises? 2. Is the business facing financial problems? 3. Are there other restaurants in the same area? And compared to the business with these restaurants, is the business good / bad i.e. same as those in the area? Warmest Regards, Cecil
  20. Introduction: 1. Geomancy.net forwards a copy of its forum message (one-way) to Yahoo! Clubs: Feng Shui Geomancy Club mainly to serve as an additional archive of the messages in this forum. 2. One of our Yahoo! Club member has requested for help in filling in a simple survey. URL: http://www.risd41.org/surveys/feng.tp3 Password to enter: " guest " 3. I have personally checked out the survey and it takes quite fast to fill-in. 4. If you have the time, perhaps, you can lend a helping hand to assist this student in his research paper on Feng Shui. You do not need to provide your email address etc... Thank you in advance. Warmest Regards, Cecil P.S. The details below is `self-explanatory':- ----- Original Message ----- From: "trely99" To: Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2001 3:56 PM Subject: Hi everyone! [Yahoo! Clubs: Feng Shui Geomancy Club]
  21. Dear Chee Kiat, I totally agree with what you had said. 1. In East such as Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Singapore, we have always learnt that Feng Shui does not depend on highly commercialised products that are produced to satisfy the `demand' and driven by unscrupulous people in the name of " Feng Shui ". 2. When I tried to do a search under the search engines for Feng Shui products; for our friend in Portual; I found several Feng Shui emporiums that have tied in with so called Feng Shui practitioners to help `push' their products. 3. Feng Shui is now so contaminated and commercialised by all these association with material goods which are highly marked up and only to fool the unsuspecting .... to depart with their hard earned money. Worse, for those who are already at a disadvantaged i.e. financial difficulities are made to buy these ex-goods.. what a pity... 4. It would be a different case, if many of these emporiums concentrate on items e.g. for Feng Shui students such as Loupans or coins. But these unfortunately do not generate big bucks for these emporiums. 5. We have heard of Feng Shui jewellery, wealth fountains, 3 legged toad etc... 6. Like Chee Kiat correctly pointed out, Feng Shui is based on the Five elements and almost anything found in the home can still be used as a Feng Shui `cure' or `tool'. 7. We should all begin to differentiate `real' Feng Shui with fake stuffs... 8. Fake Feng Shui material goods are only just as good as being decorative items ONLY. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  22. Dear Wasis, Would it be possible for you to upload a .gif or .jpg or .bmp file for a clearer understanding of your situation. Usually, you should leave out the main gate as this should not be considered the main entrance. For the main entrance, for many homes, there are usually two doors to the main entrance or distinctly, in many instances, the main entrance door can be seen from the frontage of the house. Or when we drive-in to the house, we could see the main entrance door. Alternatively, it should be the `largest' door in the home. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  23. Dear Wasis, 1. The term " Flying Star Feng Shui " and " Xuan Kong Feng Shui " is one and the same. 2. In fact, if one looks carefully at the naming convention in this forum, under the topic header "Flying Star (Xuan Kong Fei Xing)" one will come to understand that Flying Star is indeed Xuan Kong Fei Xing. 3. As money plants prefer some shade, in country which is near the equator, and subject to direct sunlight; it is very common to see money plants planted just below expressway flyovers i.e. the shaded ground. These money plants grow very well such that they look like a vast carpet `grass' covering these areas. As to whether one can plant a money plant in the soil; it can be done. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  24. Dear Liz, I tried searching thru the search engines to locate a supplier i.e. in Portugal, but could not find any. Perhaps, you could try the search engines such as yahoo.com to find a supplier perhaps overseas. Warmest Regards, Cecil
  25. Dear Diane, In general, where it concerns the compass location at north east, it is best to avoid creating or enhancing the location to become too yin. This also depends on the size of your aquarium. Where water is considered a Yin element and too much of it may not be good for this sector. However, further FS audit may be needed such as: 1. What is the lighting level (especially natural light) that goes into this room/area? More natural light -- more yang and good. 2. How large is the aquarium. 3. If a Flying Star analysis has been done; how many #numbers relate to Yin at this sector? Where possible, the Flying star #numbers at this sector should have more Yang influence. For example, Flying Star numbers have signifiance and each no. does represent an object or item. For example, a worst case senario is to find the Flying Star numbers associated with: - Women - Robe - Young - perhaps (RED) Here, we could quite imagine.. that now or in the near future, there could be a likely hanging by a young girl in red clothes at this sector... Warmest Regards, Cecil
