Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: first of all excuse me for my english. I'd like to ask a question, what is the most important, the gua element (gua 2 = earth for me) or the ba zi element ( weak fire). I like very much earth colors, my bedroom is painted yellow, do I weaken my ba zi element ? The Gua is based on your YEAR of birth only. While Ba Zi is calculated against the date and time of birth. Therefore, the element that you should be taking yourself as should be your ba zi element. Therefore, you are a weak fire person. A weak fire, person generally lacks either wood or fire. While Water or Earth tends to weaken your fire.Metal is your wealth but as a weak fire you are not strong enough to benefit it. So you willnot be your favourable elementsunless you have more wood/fire to strengthen your weak fire. This is the general favourable/unfavourable based on the fact that youare a weak fire. However, a weak fire can be due to having lack more wood or fire. (for example, if a person has 20% Wood, 5% Fire, so this tells me that this person lacks more fire than wood). Alternatively, if you have too much water (50%), this may also be a cause that makes you too weak. So often you need to know the percentage breakdown of your five element to be able to determine what elements you need more or less. Sometimes, you may be a weak fire, but if Earth is lacking in your chart, you may benefit from having some Earth when you have sufficient of wood/fire. This is what we often call the balance of the five element and how you can fine-tune the chart to your advantage. This portion is available for the paid ba zi users to fine-tune. But where the balance of the five element percentage is not known, then you based on the basics of the five element. Weak Fire = generally needs more wood/fire. While Earth/Metal/Water should not have too much. It does not mean you should not have it at all, just that you need to make sure you do not have too much. Remember, the key is balance. The ideal is to have exactly 20% of each five element to attain perfect harmony. The only additional point I want to add is that Earth (Yellow) is often a tacky colour to have in the house. Especially so for Bright Yellow/Bright Red. This is because most of the flying star illness/misfortune stars are often prone to activation if the room is painted in these colours. So you need to be extra careful. If these colours are to be choosen, make sure it is the light off-white colour (ie light cream/light pink if any). If you know the room sector has star 2/5 then avoid these colours to be safe. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am born in Western calendar 6/23/1982 on a free report it shows my element as Fire on others it shows that my element is Water for all 1982. Can someone explain? 1982 is a Water dog year. So if you take the year of birth as a basic element you are born in a water element year. However, in ba zi, we take the day of birth as your true element of the day. Meaning to say that you are born in the Fire day in a Water year. This is because even in the year, there can be a water/wood/fire/earth/metal element person. So that day element represents the most accurate form of the element of birth. So you are essentially a Strong yin Fire born in the Water dog year. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Lawrence, Lawrence Lim wrote: I'm currently staying at my brother's place, and have recently gotten my new house and hadit done up, etc already. I stay at my new place only over the weekends (cos haven't customary wedding yet), while I spend most of my time at my brother's place. Just wondering, If my brother's place has very bad Fengshui (or is bad based on my ba-zi), while my new house has ok fengshui, how will my luck be affected? Will my luck be baddue to me spending the majority of my time at my brother's place, as compared to if I stay majority of thetime at my new place? Feng Shui cannot be operated by remote control. This means that the house or place you stay is where your luck will come from. Since you spend most of your time at your brother's place, that house's luck will have most impact on you. Since you stay in your new house only during the weekends, it is not considered more a temporary location just like if you check into a hotel. Only when you stay in the new house most of your time after you move it, then your luck will come from your new home. Lawrence Lim wrote: If my brother's place has very bad Fengshui (or is bad based on my ba-zi), while my new house has ok fengshui, how will my luck be affected? Will my luck be baddue to me spending the majority of my time at my brother's place, as compared to if I stay majority of thetime at my new place? As for whether your brother's house will affect you, depends on whether the room you stay in currently, is it favourable for you or not. As you are not the breadwinner of your brother's house, you are considered only an occupant or part of the family member that stays in the house. So the room that you stay in is what will affect whether it is good or bad for you. So if you stay in room falling under your prosperity sector of the house, then it is favourable for you. The flying star which affects all occupants of the house. As long as any bad sector is corrected, then you will not be too adversely impacted by it. If not even if the room is suitable for you, but if the Qi of the house is bad, then you will of course be influenced by it. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: The North section of my house is missing!!! My house faces NE and the North section happens to be my front yard. There's nothing but grass there. My youngest daughters life place happens to be North but it's missing, she tends to get sick all the time. Is there a cure I can use to help with this. I believe I just answered the part on the missing corner which appears to be posted by you as well. URL: http://forum.geomancy.net/phpforum/article.php?bid=2&fid=1&mid=21204&new= As for your daughter getting sick. You should check:- a) Whether the room she is sleeping is ither death/disaster sector. If it is, better to move her to another room. Also, importantly is to check her sleeping position. Sleeping position (ie head should not point to the death/disaster sector). b) Theflying star of her room whether it contains star 2/5 (Strong Earth). If there are illnes stars present, then you need to neutralise them. Metal is solution for this sector. You can also put those HEPA/Plasma IonAir cleaner there to help neturalise anyviruses that may be causing it. That is also a modern form of Metal element. Make sure the room colour do not contain Bright Yellow/Bright Red. c) Check that there is no sha qi created from sharp corner of the wall/furniture that is arranged in such a way that it cuts her bed. This is sha qi that may create issues also. Usually, the above are the key issues relating to illness. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My main door faces NE and it's missing the North Corner. What type of cure can I place to help with this. There are a few solutions for solving a missing corner. 1) For landed property: a) You can extend the roof to cover the missing area so that it no longer becomes a smissing corner from the top view. - Best solution. b) Create landscaping or rock landscape to project the outline of the missing corner to cover it. Or at least have a concere flooring to cover the missing area. 2) For Apartment - Mirrors placed on the wall of themissing corner can help toextend themissing corner. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I was born on 15th of May 1971. My husband on the 23rd of February 1972. Can you please tell me whether we should rather start building our new house in January 2007 or March 2007? From the flying star perspective, any house built after 2004 will be a period 8 house. After that, you just need to find a good date that is auspicious to both. To find out which months is better, you may need to check the ba zi luck forecast for the year 2007 to see which month is better for him. Theba zi monthly forecast (which is only available for paid ba zi premiumclients). Anyway, I did a quick check for you on the breadwinner usually your husband (23 Feb 1971). Please note that, no time of birth was considered when I run the check. Based on the ba zi Jan (Average) will is better than Mar (Inauspicious). Jan/Jul Feb/Aug Mar/Sep Apr/Oct May/Nov Jun/Dec 1 Average 2 Average 3 1 harm Bad Next, you probablywant to find an auspicious day in the month of Jan from our free 30-days auspicious date link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-dateboth.htm Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I find the site very informative. I would like to know how exactly when you advise to map the house plan with the generated report. The example given was a north house and as the map of the house also faces north. What about other facing eg. west house or east house? Do we take themain front door as north though it is a west or east house report? You need to first determine the North direction of the house. Then divide the house from the centerpoint into 8 direction. Then orientate the eight house or flying star chart so that the North correspond to the North of the layout. Then you will be able to know which sector is what direction and how is the luck of the house or whether that sector (room) is suitable for who to make use. Quite simliar to this link we have:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-house1.htm Our eight house / flying star are in 9 by 9 grid exactly the same as a normal compass. So once you match the north direction of the chart to the layout, you will be able to assess each sector accordingly. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My new house has 3 housing roads sloping down from left to right when view fr inside (eg left side higher). The 1st road nearest/immediate to my house is blocked at the end of house (45? fr my main door at lower/bottom of slope). It is just not assessable by vehicle but we can walk thru the 3? un-tarr portion with some vegetation/trees. The reason is my developer is not allowed to join the road to another developer's road. There is no dead end on the other 2 roads. Is this a problem as the block is considered a dead end? Appreciate your respond. Yes, where the road is blocked and not passable to the other housing road, it is considered a dead end. However, it should not be a major problem because your house is not located at the end of the dead end road. If your house is located at the end of the dead end, you will have the road as a sha qi into the house. So that will then be inauspicious. However., your house is considered located at the side of the road. So there is no sha qi from the road into the house. This a rather common and isn't really considered a major problem unless there are other poison arrow by sharp corners created from building across. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: According to the Bagua the wealth area of my house happens to be in my laundry room downstairs and in a bathroom in the upstairs of my house. Is this considered a leak? If so is there a cure I can use to put in both of the rooms. Firstly, I just need confirm, when you say the bagua wealth area you are referring to the flying star concept read from the bagua, right? Not the eight aspiration (static bagua) as in this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/reports-list/perlist-eight-aspiration.htm The reason I want to clarify is that there is a difference. Flying Star assess the wealth luck which is different from time to time and from house to house. Whereas the eight aspiration is a static concept. If the wealth sector is based on the eight aspiration, then you don't have to worry. If it is your flying star, then you may not benenfit from the wealth luck. What we call miss opportunities. Where your wealth area falls in areas of the room where it is the toilet area, usually this means that wealth luck will go down the drain. So you can't benefit from it.You can only try to activate other auspicious sector that falls in the useful areas of the house. The wealth stars for flying stars are like say if your house is period 8, then stars 8/9 in water star is your main current wealth/future wealthor 8/9 in your mountain star is your unexpected wealth/future unexpected wealth. So it is sectors containing these stars that will be considered auspicious or wealth area. This also can be determined by a practitioner if he knows how to use the bagua. Which is why I asked if which you are referring to. Anonymous wrote: And also according to the 8 Mansion this also happens to be the location of the Wu Gui. Please Help!! As for the Eight House / Eight Mansion, basically this is your individual suitability. This means that room is not suitable for you to use. Given different people have different suitability, so this sector falling under the Wu Gui (Spook) will mainly affect you. For Eight House, if it is unsuitable then do not use that room for your work/study/sleep. If not just avoid facing the inauspicious sector. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We recently moved to a new Apartment home and our front door is on the SW.ie.., when facing the door from inside my apartment, i face SW direction.I want to know whether the technique i am using is correct or should my back be towards the door n i should face within the house to determine the actual direction of the front door(which then would be NE).Apart from that SW are the bad directions for both me and my husband.Firstly, can you confirm what level your apartment is on? 1) Low Floor (2nd - 7th level), you take the main door as your facing direction. So you stand inside your house looking outwards. 2) High Floor (8th level and up), you take the living room/balcony facing as your house direction. So you stand at your balcony looking outwards. So the house direction is taken from the house looking outwards. But you need to confirm the unit floor to determine if it is main door/balcony facing which is SW for what you have described. Anonymous wrote: What are the remedy to avoid the bad energy , if at all coming through our front door.Unfortunately we cant change it as its an apartment home. Usually, the main door Qi is only one sector of the house. You should always first fix up all the existing leaks, then enhance all the good sectors where possible. Feng Shui has to be applied in a holistic manner. So you have to apply from all areas and not just focus on one problem. So where you are not able to correct the problem of the suitability, then focus on other areas to compensate. Hope that helps. Dear Ganasundari, gnanasundari arumugam wrote: My date of birth is May /15 /1974.Whatis my lunar age and lunar month on feb /10 /2006 anddec/17/ 2006?What is my lunar age and lunar month on march /4/2007?How do you calculate ?Do you have any method to calculate? If you have ,give it to me.So that i can calculate my self in different month. The mathematical way to calculate the lunar age is no different from the western method. Only in some exceptions where used in burial or some chinese formula, sometimes we need to add or substract a year. However, you need to have a lunar calendar to know what is the lunar equavilent date on a particular date you wish to check against. Western Birthdate: 15 May 1974 Lunar Birthdate:24 day 4 month 1974 year As long as you pass the lunar 24 day 4 month of the current year, you are 1 year older. So your lunar birth day for 2006 will be on 21 May 2006making you 32. Thenthe rest iscounted byhow many months and day from the other day. This is the mathematical way. 17 Dec 2006 = 27 day 10 month 2006 (Age 32,6 months about 3 days) 10 Feb 2007 = 23 day 12 month 2006 (Age 32,8 months about 29 days) Typically, if you do not have the chinese calendar, 1 month is about 30 days except for a few months which is 29. So you can roughly estimate as what I did for the aproximate day. The 8 month includes thelunar month (which I consider as also 1 month or 30 days). As for the age when used certain special situation to add or minus a few years. That depends on that the special requirements for that those concept. What I have provided here is the mathematical method similar to the western date of birth calculation. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Will Chang, Will Chang wrote: Dear Cecil, My question is kind of silly, however I'd appreciate if you could clarify my doubt. My house has narrow frontage and long length (8mx25m), runs East (facing) to West (sitting) exactly. I am trying to apply flying star method to the house floor plan, however big sectors such as East and West sectors dominate more than 60% of the house, while smaller ones such as North and South take less than 10% of the space. Eight mansion method divides the house into 9 rectangular sectors (# shape), while Flying Star method uses 8 sectors shaped like a gua (* shape). Which method is more appropriate for my house? Actually, professionally the best is to use the eight pie whether it is for Eight Mansion or Flying Star. This is because this equally divides the sector into the 8 sectors allowing one to be able to better determine which sector falls under what sector of influence. Also, for any odd shaped/narrow houses, it is best to use the eight pie method. The 9 grid is just another way of applying the analysis. Usually, better for a square shaped layout. Will Chang wrote: I live in Southern hemisphere, does the flying star methodology need to be modified at all? Thank you in advance. Will There has been many discussion on this controversialtopic. Will such a person likely to have the same personality as well? They will have different overall luck. This is because, ba zi does not take into account your home & environment, your education, the people around you etc. So though the ba zi chart which only analyse based on your date and time of birth will show you the type of luck you are given. The two person will have different experience making their destiny slightly different. For example, if a person's home/country is always having natural disaster/wars etc. His luck encounter will definately be different from the other person who stays in a stable country. Same goes for education. One person has only primary education, while another has degree. The luck he will experience due to difference in education will also be different. It is more than likely that the person with the higher education will get a better job and pay if both are to work for others. Even the people you brought you up, and the people around you will also influence your luck. Thus, even though two person shares the same ba zi chart, what it only means is that the luck for this person is supposed to be this like this. However, if the luck will still defer depending on your surrounding, education, people around you etc. That is why in feng shui we cannot just look at your heaven luck (ba zi), we need to also consider your earth luck (typically your home), and your human luck (your own hardwork and people around you). It is this holy trinity of luck that, differs from person to person, thus having different opportunities and destiny. Hope that helps. I cant think of any other small land plants to use that wont die fast other than cactus which i think defeats the purpose . I am a Strong Fire so i hope that the water will neutralise it somewhat . Thanks for all help If the column is at least rounded, then it should not be a major problem compared to a sharp corner. Anything that can help break or block the corner will help. However, it is not a wise thing to place big pots of plants in the room. This is because, the plants will fight with you for oxygen in the night. Also plants are yang which is not good for bedroom which requires yin. If you really got no other way to block it, then consider those fake artificial decorative plants instead of real plants. How do you expect to change the house luck by opening a door or window ar NW if there is no door or window there in the first place? or a landed property, you may be able to do this, but for apartments you will not likely be able to do this. So this method is rather flawed. However, for landed property, this may work to some extend. However, it may not be enough, because for landed property, it is the facing of the house that is more important. So just opening a door in that direction may not be enough also. You may still need to have additional celebrations to help it fly over. The immediate way to change the Qi of the house, is have a major renovation of the house. ie. simply to change the layout of the house house by hacking a wall or removal/additional of a room within the house. Or even to remove/replace the roof of the house. The not so major renovation, ie repainting/re-tile part of thefloor/repairs sometimes are not enough to be considered major, so you it is not sufficient for a luck change. You may need to like have at least 3 major celebrations in the house after these work or at least after symbolic repainting of the entire roof in a go. If you do this, you can symbolically fly the house over to the next period. However, it will take a longer time (about year)for the house luck to change over. This is the best way to have a symbolic luck change, however it will take a longer time for luck to change over then an major renovation. Hope that helps. Yes, the more your clothings is made up of your favourable colours, it means that when you wear these colours, your luck will be improved. Just like if metal/wood is your favourable element. This means white/gold/green/brown is good for you. If you wear more of these colours, you will be adding elements you lack, thus boosting your luck when you walk/go to work. If you drive a car that is of these colours, you will improve your luck when you drive. If you have your room decor in these colours, you will improve your luck when you use the room. The more areas in your life that is favourable to you, the better your luck colours is more common and easy way to relate you environment to you. There are many others such as having a favourable career/favourable house etc. For more details, you can refer to this link:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Those hardest to correct as a suitable home or career brings you the greatest amount of luck influence, then just the colours of your clothes. Also we are planning to put an aquarium in the west side(health) in our house which is the back of the house is this a good location?. My kua # is 1 and dh is 2. Actually, air condition is to help cool the room. So whether it is a split/central air conditionit does not really create any feng shui problems. The only issue about air condition is that you want to avoid placing it where it blows directly at you when you sleep. Otherwise, you may fall ill due to catching cold. Otherwise, that should not be the cause of the problem you mentioned. It is more likely that there are other things causing the troubles you have. Such as the changes in theflying star. Most likely it has to do with some uncontrolled star 3 somewhere in your working sector or your bedroom. As for the placement of aquariaum. We do not use the eight house for determing that placement. You should instead find where is your wealth sector of the house based on your flying star. ie if you are staying in a period 8 house for example, then water star 8 is your current wealth sector. So it is auspicious to place the water feature in that sector so as to benefit from it. That is the only place or sector in the house that you will benefit from water feature. Placing the water feature based on your eight house does not really help you. In fact, if you place it in the sector where water is not beneficial, you can actually drown your wealth. Dear Bradley Hope, Bradley Hope wrote: Can some one please explain the Flying Star chart to me. Flying Star is the use of numerology to assess the luck of the house. It is made up of numbers 1 to 9. Depending on how the number interacts with each other, you get different analysis or interpretations. Each sector is usually made up of 3 basic numbers (ie. 8-4-3). Where 8 is the mountain star, 4 is the base star, 3 is the water star.Together it will allow a practitioner to understand and assess the Qi of the house. It is not easy forone to explainhowyou can read it if you have no ideathe basics about the flying star. However,in ourmember areado provide the freeflying star chart for users to make use of. Basically, it is already colour coded. ie 5 for example is the misfortune star which is red for inauspicious. 8 for example iscurrent wealth for period 8 house so it is blue for auspicious. So based on the colour of the numbers in our report, you will already be able to tell more or less which are the problem sectors. Most sectors such as 2/5 may require cures such as Metal influence to help balance the sector. So best to keep those sector white/gold which represents metal. The numbers most are often interested are the current wealth or future wealth. For a period 8 house (2003-2024), therefore numbers such as 8 is your current wealth, and 9 is your future wealth. So these are the stars you want to look out for when you want to activate the auspicious sector. Beyond, that if you really want to understand the chart then you need a professional to explain it in detail to you or have to learn more about the flying star feng shui. DearPui Yong, Cheong Pui Yong wrote: Is it suitable to have wealth tree and lotus flower picture in the bedroom? I also have an airport for boiling water in the bedroom because I am living in an one room place Thanks for any advise! A) Actually, it is bad to have plants or tress in the room for two reasons:- 1) The room should be yin for resting. Plants are considered yang, so it is bad to have them in the room. 2)The 2nd reasonis plants will produce oxygen in the day, but at night they will also fight with you for oxygen. Thus, both the plants and yourself will be fighting for the same amount of oxygen. This is why it is not good to place plants in the bedroom. It is ok, to have plants at the bedroom balcony/window. B) As for the airport for boiling water. This should still be ok. I mean sometimes in the room or study you want to drink water, so you place a cup or even a themos in the room. So this airport only resembles that. Which is perfectly acceptable. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My parents are unsure of my time of birth though it is stated in my birth certificate. My mother felt that I should be borned on the day but the birth certificate indicated night. Will I still be able to get advice on feng shui on my place if this information is lacking. It is best you leave the time unknown, if youare not sure, or cannot be sure which 2 hour time range your time of birth falls under. The ba zi without the time of birth will more or less give you the overall influence of the person born within the day itself. Only a few hours will alter the percentage of the five element and very few will have a different birth strength (ie weak/strong element). So the best way is to check the date of birth without the hour, then check it again with the timing as of your birth certificate. If there isn't that great a difference, then your chart won't change too much. But again where not sure, best to leave unknown. Leaving the time unknown will still give a fairly accurateassessment. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
