However, what you can do is just to make sure the colour of the clothing you wear is favourable. This will help to improve your luck for the day. Dear Sharlene, Sharlene Soh wrote: Qn 1: Could you please advise what is the impact to a person whoworks in an industry belonging to his unfavourable element but the jobscope is of a favourable element? and vice versa? Of course that won't be as favourable as having both a industry and job scope that is favourable. So it will be a mixed element career. As to whether good or bad, really depends on the element. For example, a weak wood person, if the industry is metal, but the job scope is water. Metal destroy weak wood which would seem to be bad, but as water helps wood, and metal actually makes water stronger. Therefore, this industry helps to boost the job scope element, thus making it a suitable element. So it really depends on how the elements interact with your element. Also, the percentage of element you lack of each element will make a difference. ie even if an element is unfavourable, but if your percentage is very low, some of it is actually good for you. Sharlene Soh wrote: Qn 2: I've read at http://talk.geomancy.net that fashion falls under Fire element and clothing falls under Earth element. Could you please explain what is the difference between clothing and fashion? Quite simple really. Fashion is the art of creating something that is fashionable, quite similiar to like marketing a product or a clothing.Clothing is considered more of a material that is derived from the earth. To be frank, even for careers depending on what exactly you special in the element can contain mixed element. Dear Aloysius, Aloysius Chia wrote: May I know if Alamac show Day 1 is good for all events (moving house, opening door, etc) but personal auspicious day show very inauspicious, which one should I follow. In general, the alamac is simply a forecast of good and bad days irregardless of who is using it for. ie it means it is a day that is generally good for everyone on this year to make use of. You still need to check whether your horoscope sign is compatible etc before one actually use it. Otherwise, it will still harm you (if the day clashes with you). The personal auspicious date is one that considers your personal ba zi. This means it considers whether your chart has any clashes with the day. So if you know your own personalised date, then it is better to follow your own personalised date. Otherwise, it is still ok to follow the alamac as long as the horoscope sign does not clash or harm you. It is also ok to follow the general alamac if you are choosing a date for many people (without any one being the important person involved for that event). Hope that helps. Dear Vincent, Vincent Yong wrote: I amunderstrong fire... and my favourable elements are earth and water and favourable wealth element is metal. I am wondering if crystals could help? Wonder if having Citrine Bracelet For Wealth Luck (Yellow Colour - Earth Element) and Natural Blue Lace Agate(Light Blue Colour - Water Element) could help? Hope to hear from you soon. Thank You. But if it is of certain element or material or colour, it can still be related to the five element and thus used to help boost your own luck. So far you are relating it to colour, so that is correct if based on the colour. For crystals or any precious stones (Gemstones), you can also determine the type of stones as an indicator:- Garnet = Fire Amethyst = Fire Aquamarine = Water Diamond = Metal Emerald = Wood Pearl = Metal Ruby = Fire Peridot = Wood Sapphire = Fire Opal = Earth Topa = Earth Turquoise = Water I really do not know those item look or what material it is made of, so hard to tell you for sure what elements it contains. But the colours you have mentioned seems to be correct. Likelyhood it is also some form of metal as it is in form of bracelet that holds it is made of that material. So it can be a mixed element. ie Metal+Earth for the Citrine Bracelet etc. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee

Dear Ashita, ashita mehta wrote: My date of birth is 22nd March 1979, i have been trying to calculate my lunar age but just cant, pls help, i was born in new delhi, india. This really depends on when you consider as a year has passed. ie. do you count 1 year as ofyour next birthday (ie 22nd Mar 1980 = 1yr)? The least confusing way is always use your next birthday (be it english/lunar calendar). As of 8 Nov 2006, you should be 27 years old based on your english birthday. Your Lunar Birthday 24th day 2nd 1979. So you have pass 24th 2nd 2006 (23rd Mar 1980), you will be 27 years old. ie. there is another more confusing method is by the new year. That one can be a little tricky, which can add or minus 1 yr depending on the date you count until. But it is safe to use the above method by considering the lunar age based when you have pass the next birthday. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am born in the Rooster year and is a strong Yin Earth. Luck seems very bad this year with my work.Bosses and some employees relationship bad and seems to be rumours all over. Please advise if there is preventive measures and what is the luck cycle for next year. Thank you Just based on you the brief information you have provided. You can try to boost your luck by improving on the elements you lack. ie. You are a Strong Earth, so favourable elements likely are Metal, Water, Wood elements. How much exactly you lack or need from each element really depends on the actual percentage in your ba zi chart (this information is only known in a paid report). This is not likely a good year for you because this is an Earth Dog year which is definately bad for Strong Earth Rooster. But in general, if you can boost your elements ie Metal to exhaust your excess Earth, Wood element to destroy your Earth. It should help curb the excess Earth element that is affecting your luck. You can refer to this link for five element and characteristics:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Having more of your favourable colours (clothes/car colour/room colour), a favourable career, a favourable house facing element, or people around you that are your favourable element will help you boost your luck. Of course not everything is easily corrected such as house element or career element. But if you can in future slowly correct them, your luck will also increase. The things you mostly can do is selecting the right colour, bedroom/office colour or anything you own. Getting more of the elements you lack, will help boost your overall luck. Meanwhile, keeping a low profile this year is something you need to do since your element and horoscope sign isn't so favourable. The rest is actually luck from your house (ie your feng shui of your home etc), which is beyond what this post can advise you on. Hope that helps. Dear Bernard, Bernard Chua wrote: I am a Horse born in 29 Dec 1978. Which direction should I sit facing in a business meeting / negotiationthat is to my advantage? You can either sit facing either your best eight house or best ba zi facing direction. I would recommend you go for your ba zi direction as this is more flexible to be used anywhere (ie not in your own office), while eight house is best used for house suitability or best work direction (in your own office). If you can find a direction that is both good for your eight house and bazi, that will be the most ideal direction to face whenever you have any business meeting or negotiations. A. Here is the link to where you can check on your ba zi:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm Simply determine what element you are and what is your favourable elements. Each favourable element can be related to a direction. So far based on your date of birth (WITHOUT THE HOUR so not sure if this is still correct if your hour is considered), you are a Strong Wood, so Fire (South) and Metal (NW/W) are favourable. B. You can determine your best eight house from this link:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm If based on your eight house you are an East Group (N/S/E/SE), so South is the most ideal direction for you to face. As it is the common direction for both your eight house and ba zi. So it gives you the best luck for your business. Hope that helps. When both of you are together, your sister strong water will strengthen you. As her element is already strengthening you, her excess water will be drained off. So really do not need any further solutions. If you really need is to enhance the elements individually. ie for your sister, to have more wood, and for yourself to have more metal. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I would appreciate your advice. My husband and I have totallyopposite eight house chartand I can't find a direction thatis suitable for him and myself. This is really a very common issue that most couples face. However, it isn't really too difficult to resolve. All you need to do is to apply the give and take solution. ie. The house must be favourable to the Breadwinner. So the breadwinner will gain luck from the house. Then the bedroom should be allocated to the spouse so that she will be able to draw luck from the bedroom. The most important is to have the breadwinner having a house suitable to him/her. The rest of the family member should just have a bedroom that is suitable for them to stay in. If you follow this rule, it shouldn't be hard apply this concept. Anonymous wrote: First of all. for the eight house chart-for an apartment-do we stand inside the houselooking outside ordo westand outside the house looking intothe house? For apartments (2nd-7th level), you should just stand at the center ofyour main door looking outwards. This is the reading for your main door. For apartments (8th level and up), you should take the facing from the living room/balcony facing. Just stand at your living room/balcony and take a compass reading looking outwards. Anonymous wrote: North-East is Prosperity for him, but Sppok for me. Anonymous wrote: North-West is Longevity for him, but Irritation for me. The front entrance has a double door; the builder has just put a street light in the front of the house and (the post is black and is mental) if we stand inside the house and look out the light is just on the left side door (not in the centre of the double door) is this consider a bad fungshui if so what is the cure for it. Also the builder is going to plant a tree in front of the house as well. Hopefully not in the middle of the front door or anywhere near the front door the middle of the door and if are we in really bad fengshui? and is there a cure for it?. My kua# is 1 and dh is 2 and daughter is 8. Please help us. As long as the street light cuts the main door, it is considered inauspicious and is deemed a sha qi. Especially so if it is very close to your home. If distance is quite far, then it is less of a problem. Under the feng shui rule, as long as you cannot see it, it no longer becomes a threat or problem. A. One solution is to plant some plant(s) that can help to block the street light from cutting into the house. Alternatively, any fence tall enough etc, can also help. B. If not possible to put plants between the street light and door, then inside your door, if you have space, you can install a partition to prevent the sha qi directlyentering into the house. At least this screen will block the sha qi from entering deeper into the house. The last resort if the above two solutions are not possible might require the use of a mirror/bagua to deflect the sha qi. Try to avoid this, as often this will induce a bagua war with your neighbour. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Hi Master...i wanted to know if my unit number is auspicious...however, i'm not sure what is the year the house was built. Mine is a condo, just TOP in Oct 2006. Thus may i know wats considered "the year the house was built"?would it be TOP date? Completion date? or the date developer got the land? Houses built between(1984-2003) are considered Period 7 houses. Houses built after 2004 are consdiered Period 8 houses. Usually, you should take theyearwhen the developement is completed and ready for people to stay. So the TOP date is a safe date to use since it is means that the developement is ready for people to stay in. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, There are currently 3 formula available to calculate the Gua Number:- Method 1 Male Calculation - Subtract the last two numbers of your year of birth from 100 and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder, you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970, 100 - 70 = 30 30 divided by 9 = 3 remainder 3 Your Gua number is 3 Females Calculation - Subtract 4 from the last two numbers of your year of birth and divide by 9. - The remainder is the number of your Gua. - If there is no remainder you should take the Gua number 9. For Example: Born in 1970 70 - 4 = 66 66 divided by 9 = 7 remainder 3 Your Gua number is 3 Method 2 Male Calculation - Take the year of birth - Add the last two digits to get a single number - Deduct from 10. For Example: Born in 1970 7 + 0 = 7 10 - 7 = 3 Your Gua number is 3 Female Calculation - Take the year of birth - Add the last two digits to get a single number - Add 5 to this single number - Add the two digits to a single number. This will be your Gua no. For Example: Born in 1970 7 + 0 = 7 5 + 7 = 12 ; 1 + 2 = 3 Your Gua number is 3 Method 3 Male Calculation - Take the year of birth - Add all four digits to get a single number - Deduct from 11. For Example: Born in 1970 1 + 9 + 7 + 0 = 17; 1 + 7 = 8 11 - 8 = 3 Your Gua number is 3 Female Calculation - Take the year of birth - Add all four digits to get a single number - Add 4 to this single number - Add the two digits to a single number. This will be your Gua no. For Example: Born in 1970 1 + 9 + 7 + 0 = 17; 1 + 7 = 8 4 + 8 = 12 ; 1 + 2 = 3 Your Gua number is 3 As you can see all three methods (1, 2 & 3) can be used to find out the Gua number and get the same results. Please note that the above two methods of calculations also apply for those born in the year 2000 or ending with 00. Except there is a change in the constant value every century. Method 1 Constant Value for year 2000, for Male is 99 instead of 100, while for Female is -3 instead of -4. Calculating Method 1 Male constant value change. eg. 1900. Take 1 + 9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1 (the 19 century) add it to value 101. (101 - [21+9+10=1+0=1]) = 99. eg. 2000. Take 2 + 0 (the 20 century) add it to value 101. (101 - [2+0]) = 99. eg. 2100. Take 2 + 1 (the 21 century) add it to value 101. (101 - [2+1]) = 98. Calculating Method 1 Female constant value change. eg. 1900. Take 1 + 9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1 (the 19 century) add it to value -5. ([1+9=10=1+0=1] - 5) = -4. eg. 2000. Take 2 + 0 (the 20 century) add it to value -5. ([2+0] - 5) = -3. eg. 2100. Take 2 + 1 (the 21 century) add it to value -5. ([2+1] - 5) = -2. Method 2 Constant Value for year 2000, for Male is 9 instead of 10, while for Female is 6 instead of 5. Calculating Method 2 Male constant value change. eg. 1900. Take 1 + 9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1 (the 19 century) add it to value 11. (11 - [1+9=10=1+0=1]) = 10. eg. 2000. Take 2 + 0 (the 20 century) add it to value 11. (11 - [2+0]) = 9. eg. 2100. Take 2 + 1 (the 21 century) add it to value 11. (11 - [2+1]) = 8. Calculating Method 2 Female constant value change. eg. 1900. Take 1 + 9 = 10 = 1 + 0 = 1 (the 19 century) add it to value 4. (4 + [1+9=10=1+0=1]) = 5. eg. 2000. Take 2 + 0 (the 20 century) add it to value 4. (4 + [2+0]) = 6. eg. 2100. Take 2 + 1 (the 21 century) add it to value 4. (4 + [2+1]) = 7. Method 3 No change is necessary. -- So far you have been working on method 2. Both method 1 and 2 are flawed in the sense that it only works for those born in 1900-1999. As the constant is for male is 10. But this constant value has to be change very century. So it is not an efficient calculation method to use. You should instead opt for method 3 which will no further constant modifier is necessary for every change in century. Anonymous wrote: My question : Why is our Gua number determine using the Geogian calander with a baseline dated back 1971 years ago ? And adding the last 2 digit has somewhat dissociated the original quality of the year number (so that 8 has no correlation with 71)? As mentioned above, method 1 and 2 are method that requires you to change the constant every century. So they are flawed. The gua number is actually determined from your lunar calendar. But since both calendar is based on year to year changes. So the only difference lies in that you first need to ensure that you are taking your LUNAR YEAR of birth instead of GREGORIAN YEAR. The formula is derived from knowing how to find the common factor to allow you to determine the gua number from any specific year. That you can based on any mathematical formula to find the constant value that will work for all years. That is how method 3 was derived. In fact, that is also how method 1 and 2 were worked out. Just that, when method 1 and 2 was worked out, the method assumes that you are calculating for people born in that century only. That is all. To be frank, with a chinese alamac (tung shu), this information is found there already, so no need for most of the people in the past to have to claculate it. But in modern day, most people are able to derive the constant to be able to easily calculate the gua rather than looking up in the tung shu. So these method were derived. Don't you agree that with such a formula, you don't need to have to refer to the tung shu? So that is how these method came into being the default method for calculating the Gua. Anonymous wrote: Another question : Howin ancienttime does people calculate the Gua ? According to the chinese almanc, the most recent baseline isat AD1949 (China come under a new regime). The same princple applies.Even in ancient chinese, there are very wise and learned man that are able to calculate changes in stars etc. So such method of calculation are most likely available. Just that they will not be mathematically recorded. Instead, they will probably use like a chinese verse or poem to remember some form of rules in calculating these changes. Also, the luopan contains also many method of determining many calculations just by adjusting the rings accordingly. So in the past usually it is some verse or tools that help them determine these calculation. In modern days, we use mathematical formula to be able to easily calculate it. As long as the formula used is correct, there is really no issue to calculate any date even in the ancient or in the present time. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Here is a dilemma I have been puzzled about. I wanted to know how does Annual star affect the 20 year stars (mine is period 7). Do I keep the same color cure for the whole20 year stars or I need to change the colors according to my Annual star treatment? The annual stars will influence the luck for that year itself. You should always correct the 20-year stars first, since it influence most of the luck for the house. Then fine tune the cures slightly for the year itself. When you fine tune your cires, look out for the problem stars like star 5/2. Those are the sectors you may need to add additional cures for the year. For example, if the base star has star 2, then a star 2/5 comes in for the year. That sector may need more Metal element cures. So total unfavourable is 10% Wood element can destroy Earth (your unfavourable element), it can also exhaust your Water (your favourable element), and can also help Fire (your unfavourable element). So it cannot be considered in the initial equation as it cancel itself out. Favourable (water+metal) 50% So the best career if possible is a mixed of both Earth and Fire. ie Sales and Marketing(Fire) in Construction industry (Earth). So it contains both element. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am confuse if i am a weak or strong bitrh element... What did our free ba zi report from this link tell you? URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm As our free report isn't crippled in any way, the results that it analysed will be the exact same result we will assess you if you obtain the paid report. This means if it tells you that you are a weak water, then you are indeed a weak water. The only difference is that in the free report, it does not show you why or how it obtain the final five element breakdown. Anonymous wrote: But I have 3 metal and 3 water elements to support my birth element. Does they turn me into a strong water? These 3 metal and 3 water means nothing if you do not process it along with other factors that will alter the initial element strengthen and percentage. A) If 3 metal is of extremely weak and 3 water is of weakest category, then it is very different compared to 3 strongest and 3 strong water. So the number 3 itself means absolutely nothing if you do not associate it with the strengthen of the seasons. B) Also, more importantly, you may initially have 3 metal or 3 water, but once you process the combinations and clashes, some of your intiial elements may lose its properties and get converted to say an unfavourable element that makes you weak. So finally, you might only have 1 metal 2 water, and more of your unfavourable elements. Thus, you will also likely to be weak. So unless you have considered the above changes into your chart, your initial five element breakdown means nothing really. It is after all these information is processed and then you get a proper percentage breakdown of the five element, then you can really tell how weak or strong you are. This is where our free report/paid report already have done so. Therefore, if it has assessed you as a weak water. Then the percentage of your metal+water is definately lesser than the percentage of the unfavourable elements. Just that these information are not revealed in the free report. Users are therefore supposed to assess these information themselves. Anonymous wrote: What it means when I don?t have earth element in my bazi chart? You have to first confirm that there are no combinations that convert existing elements into earth element. And not just based on the basic five element present in your initial/raw ba zi chart. If there is really lacking in a certain element, this usually means not so balanced chart. Therefore, the first thing that is associated with such a chart is usually more potential health issues. As too much or too little a percentage in the five element often results in a person with potentially higher health issues. Also, this means that this person may lack several deities as compared to a more balanced chart. Beyond that a full review of the chart is required to be able to tell more. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: How to adjust for time zone difference when entering birtth time in a ba zi calculation if the person was born outside of China? This topic has been asked several times before. And I recently just replied to another user about this topic.
