Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I am looking at buying a property where I can build my new home. ... Is there a way to counter the negative impact of those 3 problems, or I simply have to forget about this property? Thanks you very much for your help. I hope I can repay you one day if you are in Sydney. Since you haven't bought it, I would strong advise against purchasing it. There are quite a number of articles about such houses and the problems from it. So far, there has been no effective solutions to counter the negative impact from such underground water. So if you haven't purchase it, don't buy it. Look for other better property. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Olivia, Olivia Kim wrote: My most favorable direction is East. The bedroom I am in is in the east sector with a portion missing. Since your bedroom is in the East, at least what it means is that you are staying in the most suitable sector of thehouse for the bedroom. So the bed placement even if it does not face East isn't as important anymore. The more important would be the shapes and form placement of the bed in relation to the rest of the room. Olivia Kim wrote: In order to place my bed pointing in my my favorable direction and diagonal to the door into my bedroom, I have to place my bed in a corner with about haf the bed along the Northeast wall -- where a window sits. My bed will cover a good portion of the window along the Northeast wall. Olivia Kim wrote: I have another windowin theSoutheast portion of the room and Iam considering placing a screen to cover the window (where a portion of my headboard will be). Olivia Kim wrote: I really don't mind ever opening the window located in the Southeast wall but is it okay to from time to time open the window along the Northeast wall? Do you think that this is a good bed placement? For this, it would be easier to advise you if you have some sketch or layout of the bedroom so that I know where is the entrance missing corner and then can better advise if it is the best placement of the bed. Having the bed located close to the window isn't the best shapes and form placement. Don't think it is the best placement.I am not sure where to suggest the best placement as I cannot see how the layout of the room is to proposed. Is there another sector where you can place the bed with the headboard anchored to a solid wall instead of the window? Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: I'm going to completely renovatethe convenient store for my gas station business.According tothe blue print, the architect puts the bathroom right next to my office (my office and the bathroom share the same wall), I don't think this is a good idea. Do you? Doesn't sound good at all. The toilet should be located a distance away from your office or at least in the bad sector of the building if possible. And it should be located at the frontage of the building (which is also bad). Hoa Luong wrote: Thebuilding's facing is S1 and this renovation will move the building to P8. According to the S1/P8 flying star chart, the W, SW andCenter sectors are inauspicious. Of course, I'm notgoing to put the bathroom in the center, sothat leaves Wand SW. According to the flying star chart, W sector (ms2, ws5, bs1) is bad; and the SW (ms7, ws9, bs5) is very bad.If I put the bathroom in the SW sector which is the southwest corner, it will be consideredat the frontage of the building. I rememberedCecil had told mein one of my previousquestions that it's not good to have bathroomat the frontage of the house. So should I put the bathroom in the West sector which is the back corner of the building? I'm a strong water, west house person, so W is my excellent and SW is my health direction. Would a West location bathroom be bad for me? SW will not be a good sector to place the toilet. Actually, the toilet should be located in an area which you cannot benefit from the sector. Since West is excellent for you, then that should be where your office room should be or at least in another 2 good sector of the store. Then locate the toilet in another sector other than the frontage of the house and not too close to your office. If your office is located in a room which is favourable for you, then if West is the back of the building, then it should be no problem if your toilet is there. Because SW is suitable for you and your office sector is also in your good sector (Longevity/Properity). The reason I say this isbecause you mentioned this is a store. So I am not sure if your office location needs to entertain guess or visitor or not. If you need to entertain people, then locating nearer to the entrance under your good sector would be better. If just a work area for you, then locating at the back of the building will still be acceptable. So my point here is first find a good sector for your office, then allocate the toilet accordingly. This way you can ensure everything will fit you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Angela, Angela Le wrote: I don't understand very well on how to improve my earthly elements or at least increase or decrease it. Like what is considered water, ( a water faucet in the house) and what is considered earth ( more plants in the house). What about wood furniture? Can that be counted as earth and wood? I am a strong fire and apparently for the next 10 years I need more earth than water. What does that mean? I tried finding the answers on the site, but could not find it. Please explain. Basically, make use of this talk article about the five element and relationship as a reference:- URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Generally, you should look at the larger picture about the relationship:- 1. House / Office Facing direction element - if suitable you can get a great deal of luck from this in addition to the eight house suitability. 2. Colours - Colours of clothes, furniture, car, room colour decor all play a great deal of influence of the element of the object compared to the material. Of course material is also another way to go about improving your luck but think about it for most furniture, you have either Wood/Metal/Glass. So if you use material it can be a little too limited as to what kind of element it represents. So instead you use the shapes and colour to define the object would be more accurate. ie a red metal table is considered fire element rather than metal element. 3. People around you - ie Spouse / Family / Friends, the more of your favourable element, the greater you can ride on their better luck and element. 4. Career - since a career influence you most next to the home, it is of course the next important area which you can try to work in an industry that is favourable to your element if you have the skills for it. So you should be basing on all these key areas. Others like water faucet are too small to be of much impact. Those are considered micro importance (thus least important compared to the colour of the bathroom). Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Alex, Alex Y wrote: I have been suffering from dry eyes since early last year (2004). I am a computer engineer and I have been working in front of a computer for the past 5 years. I do not have such problem before last year. My laptop screen is still very good and crispy clear. For health related issues, it is best you seek professional help from a medical consultant. There isn't anything that Feng Shui directly solve for health issues. Feng Shui can only can only help to create more harmony so that everything you will be able to focus on your career etc.Usually with a good environment, you feel less stress and thus everything in terms of health and general well-being will improve. Alex Y wrote: I have visited a couple of optometrist but I wonder if there is anything in Feng Shui / 5 elements theory which can help improve my situation. I am Stong Water and my favourite elements are Big Wood, & Fire. The only thing I can advise you here is not so much on Feng Shui but rather on Chinese Medicine and its relationship to the Five element. In terms, Five Element can be related to the Human Organ. And if I am not wrong Eyes can be related to theFire (Heart and Brian). Heart and Brian helps to pump blood to all parts of the body. Chinese Medicine relates the five organ to explaining the various function of other parts of the body. As I am not fully trained as a medical practitioner, my knowledge on the five element to the human body is limited. So maybe in terms of Chinese Medicine (if you see a chinese physician), he might be able to advise you on some herbal supplements that can improve your Eyes function. Since food and herbs can be related to five element, proper supplement can help you improve the dry eyes issue. This would probably be most appropriate for you at this point. Hope that helps. Dear Roeland, Sorry, got very confused with the description:- Roeland de Looff wrote: When I open my frontdoor I see a very small corridor and stairs leading to my appartement. The stairs are private, so no other people are involved. Roeland de Looff wrote: On top of the stairs there is another door that leads to a larger corridor on the first floor where I live. So what you are saying here is that you open your front door (I guess the front door to your building at the ground floor), then walk through the small corridor and up the stairs until you reach another door at the top of the stairs (which I call 2nd door). This 2nd door at the top of the stairs leads to a larger corridor on the 1st floor that you live in? So that means in order to get to your home, you have to enter two doors? Am I getting it right? So you are asking whether the 2nd door (which is the entrance to your apartment) does it need a cure? I mean based on this description does not sound like it will be a major impact as firstly it is a private stairs and secondly you hardly make use of it. But as mentioned, a solution for blocking any Sha Qi into a home where you cannot put plants or screen, is to install a metal gate entrance that the bottom half is fully covered (cannot see through type). But if the above I mentioned is correct, then not a big issue no cure is really necessary. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Sam, Sam Yeong wrote: My NEhas 5m-1b-9w stars. Can I atcivate the future wealth star withactive water? BTW, what period is the house in? I presume it is period 8, where you are refering to 9 as the future wealth star and 1 is the future future wealth star? Anyway, because of star 5 and 9, it is more important to correct the star 5 influence more than activating wealth star at this point. So a metal cure is most needed in this sector to balance up the sector. So would really focus on Metal cure to balance and harmoise the sector rather than activating the sector as until the Star 5 is neutarlise, activating the sector may cause the sector be even more inauspicious. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Please help. My new home (location and direction)was picked by a builder. It faces Southwest. My kitchen is the most northeast. My bedrooms are northwest. Anonymous wrote: Are these directionsgood for energy? Any other aspects of these directions? You will need to check out using some of the free tools on the website, whether the facing of the home South-West is this a good direction for the breadwinner (person earning most to sustain the family mostly in a family the husband for example). So for example, if you check your date of birth for the breadwinnerand South-West is Excellent, then this house direction is suitable to you and thus, will bring you luck. Because the house is suitable to you. URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm For the other family members staying in home, make sure the bedroom are located in the favourable sector for each of the family member. As for the kitchen, usually under the eight house report, it should try to fit the person who uses the kitchen most frequently ie the spouse. As long as the directions of these key rooms fall in suitable direction for you and your family. Then you should be able to benefit from a suitable room. The next thing you can check out is whether the luck of the house based on the flying star does it bring wealth luck or not. ie where is the star 8 in period 8 house (ie built in 2004-2023). You can access this free report under the house section in the members area. URL: http://login.geomancy.net Hope that helps. Dear Lily, Quote: May I ask if the breadwinner of the house is Strong Wood and water is his unfavourable element, can he still have a fish tank in his house if his house has a W8 in the right position. A little of everything even the unfavourable element is acceptable but too much will not be favourable for a Strong Wood person anymore. In this case, the flying star W8 is the water wealth sector. This will superceed the requirement of the ba zi. As what you are activating is the water wealth. So having a water feature there will be ok as long as it is in the right position where the water wealth is located. So even if the person is a Strong Wood, he can still have a water feature. However, he should avoid having too much more of water in other areas. So to balance up for example, his bedroom or personal clothing colours should avoid Water (blue/black/gray) to further add water to his Strong Wood person. As long as he balance up in other area, a water feature for the activation of flying star water wealth is acceptable Hope that helps Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Guest, In terms of studying, you should try to take a look at:- 1. Either your study direction, should try to face one of your 4 good directions under your eight house chart:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-8h.htm 2. Make sure also that you take note especially on where the sun enters into your room. Try to to study against the glare of the sun or where the sun light shines onto your table as it can be very distractive under such situation. Or where too much sunlight especially shining on the walls of your room can also make it very warm and thus very distractive. 3. The last thing to check is sometimes, it could be due to the colour scheme in the room not being the most favourable or conducive environment for you. So you can also try to take a look at the colour scheme. Ideally, try to have colours that you favour most based on your ba zi:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/reports/free-report/freerpt-element.htm 4. Other non feng shui aspect is to check out what other factors in the room is causing the distraction or simply try to also find a little time to do some short exercise which helps you feel more refresh and alert. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.

There is no room to place a screen or a plant. However, on top of the stairs there is a door. Is this enough to fix the leak? Sorry, I am not sure if I am getting the correct picture from what you have described here. Am I right to say once you open your main door, you see a staircase opposite of your main door. This staircase leads up to another entrance (probably your neighbour?), am I right? Anyway, even if I am wrong, the one way to solve this is to install a gate in front of your door. Try to install one with at least the bottom half fully covered (ie no gaps). This will help to deflect any sha qi if any. Roeland de Looff wrote: In addition there is a toilet placed right above the front door, butapart from replacing it, which is not possible, there does not seem to be any remedial measures for that. If something can be done any suggestion would be more than welcome. Unfortunately, there is no solution for this except unless you do a major renovation to remove the toilet completely. This is because a toilet located close to the main door (either on the side or top/bottom) isn't good because image your qi will be dirtied by the toilet. Hope that helps. Dear Louise, Louise Ngan wrote: Thanks for your reply. In regards to what you have already said, does this mean that it's okay to pick a wedding date this year for next year (in accordance to the chinese calendar)? As far as I am concerned, there isn't any issue to pick a date this year for next or the following year. This is really up to the individual, some people might not want to pick, because the tung shu isn't out so unable to pick. Others, simply want to pick a date only in that year. However, if you pick the date too late, you may end up not finding venues (ie hotel etc) for your event as they may be fully booked. Hope that helps. Dear Cindy, Would firstly appreciate that you do not post a message without any message content. Anyway, a house birthdate is defined as when the house was built (ie 1999 (would be a period 7 house). If there are renovations (especially major ones), ie hacking of walls or changing of interior structure of the house or expansion of the house etc. Such major renovations may cause a birthdate to be changed to a new period. So in such cases where major renovation was done after the house was built, the house might be converted to the year the major renovation was done. Hope that helps. Usually, such a figurine is considered a decorative item rather than having some special powers or mircle abilities. The dragon is considered a rather fierce creature, so it is best if to make use of it to face any external Sha Qi to help guard the house. Such items if any should be better place in like see through cabinet as part of decorative items if possible. Otherwise, no other major issue to look out. Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: My best directions for my desk to face are SW and NE. The way my office is situated, for me to move my desk, it would sit diagonally. However, I thought that anything situated like that would not be good feng shui. What is the best possible thing to do in a situation like this? Thank you in advance. It is nice to get everything suitable to your personal feng shui. However, sometimes due to constraints this might not be possible. Especially, for office sitting directionis limited unless you own a room to yourself. Often, most people do not have much choice or flexibility in such changes. From what you mentioned, the current position would still be most shapes and form friendly position than to change the direction of your desk to your best facing direction. These direction are nice to have and only applicable if it is possible to place them in that direction and still comply to a good shapes and form arrangement. Shapes and form arrangement will have a higher priority than facing direction. cheryl ludwig wrote: If I place my desk facing NE, my back is facing the main entrance to my office. However, at the same time, I face the window (in the wall) that people pay me through when picking up trees, which is N-NE. I thought about putting a fountain in the north to help with this. I have decided that, unless I can put a desk diagonally, all the plugs for my computer, phone, etc. are also in the NE. So, should I put something to deflect the electricity? Since my back is to my main entrance, and I see no other way to arrange my office, should I put plants behind me on a table or more water (SE)? Thank you in advance. It really depends on your job scope as well, if people are going to be visiting you in your office, than it would be more practical and welcoming if you face the door so that you can see the people entering. If you don't need to meet people, then it should still be find if you face the wall. Ultimately, the overall shaps and form would be most important. It is hard for me to try to visualise what from text description. So quite difficult to advise whether it would be appropriate or not. Hope that helps. Frankly, based on our experience there might be several issues that might be inauspicious for a series of bad events to happen. Most of the time it should be closely related to the home / office where you reside in. This is because the Earth Luck feng shui has one of the greatest influence over a person's luck. This will probably have to couple with some inauspicious luck during that period that all come together for such problems. Based on your ba zi, it would seem that 2000-2004 is generally in auspicious period for you especially 2001,2002,2003. These are presence of clashes and harms that impact your luck further. I believe that together with your Earth Luck influence, would probably be the reasons why you have been having issues. [2000 to 2004] (shu-Earth) is an inauspicious period as it does not favour your 5 yearly Luck Period. [2000] geng-chen - Luck with you but Average [1st 6 months] geng - is a little auspicious. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm having a very bad time with my husband and at the verge of asking for a divorce..feeling very lost, i went to see a fengshui master to get my ba zi reading. Apparentlyour Day stem and branch clashes with each other ie. I'm a Brown tiger and he is a black rat. In addition, we get married on the year which clashes with my husband. He was born in 1972 (rat) and we get married in 2002 ie a horse year. I was told I can 'lessen' the clashes by doing some kind of prayer by him.... and wouldcharging me quite a few hundred dollar... after reading quite of stories abt people being con in the newspaper.. I'mratherworry to bean'easy prey'.. would this kind of 'prayer' help???? .. although I still do understand it still very much lies on our on 'initiative' to get the marriage work. In any relationship, two different persons are involved. In order for a relationship to last, both parties must be able to see and understand each other flaws and willing to give and take so as be able to make a relationship last. This cannot be a one sided effort. As such, no one or anything else help youimprove the relationship. Any clashes in terms of ba zi etc, are just some indications that could be present. But ultimately, it is how much both of you love each other and thus willing to give in that will eventually make or break a relationship. Nothing else really can help you on this unfortunately. The only thing you can do with feng shui is attempt to create an environment (ie binding element wood so room decor in green/brown)that might help smoothen relationship but whether or not it will work still ultimately determine on the two persons involved. So my answer to whether prayer can help. Sorry, it will not help. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, In our comparison module, basically we do a direct comparison between the two person based on the various ba zi pillars (ie day/month/year/hour/conception/life pillars). With so many different pillars that are analysed, it is quite common to have some clashes or harms found. Anonymous wrote: Earthly Branch Clash between year pillar (chen) & year pillar (shu). Earthly Branch Harm between year pillar (chen) & day pillar (mao). More important incompatibility isbetween year and year and day and day clash. Reason for these is because your animal sign is derived from the year pillar so if there is a clash that means the animal signs are in conflict. So not a compatible pair based on the horoscope signs. If your day and day clash it means that the birth element may be in conflict with the other person. Since the day of birth defines your day of birth thus a day and day clash is also something to look out. Especially, if it is an heavenly stem clash/harm which is more important. Clash is generally worst that harm. So in the above it simply means that you have an animal sign incompatibility. ie Dragon and Dog not very compatible. So there may be a higher chance of quarrels that might occur. However, ultimately whether a relationship can last depends a lot more between the two persons. If both person are willing to give and take the flaws that each person have, there is no reason why a relationship cannot last. So the analysis is ultimately a guide to see if there are any possible friction or differences that might arise. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: As I am planning to get married early next year, I have heard many feedbacks on which date to choose. My mother has heard from a friend that it's not auspicious to pick an odd numbered month (ie: 1,3,5). Is this true? She also added that I should not pick a date this year for next year's wedding as it will "carrying foward" (chak lien in cantonese). Is this true as well? . Frankly, just like auspicious numbers, there are a couple of ways of going about looking for a date. Most people for example just use the Tong Shu to determine which is the auspiciosu date generally suitable for everyone. For us, we try to choose a date that is good in as many areas:- 1. A date should be good in the tung shu especially for day and year should not clash. 2. A date should also be suitable to both the Bride & Groom in terms of the ba zi with as minimium clash/harm as possible. 3. Dates if possible should not clash with the bride and groom animal signs. Most of the time if a clash occurs, then you may not be able to find the best most auspicious dates in that year compared to another one. If you chose based on these, you will less likely to get wrong, as dates favourable to your individual luck will be most suitable for your individual luck as well as if the date does not clash it is generally suitable to most people as well. So you get the best of the two worlds. These kind of analysis is better than saying certain days isn't good or bad. In terms of auspicious dates, there is also general saying that 1st and 15th of lunar calendar are generally most auspicious etc. So there are many many such issues. It is really up to you to determine which way is acceptable for you. Anonymous wrote: As next year's calendar is opening only next month..would I also need to select a date for registration as I heard some say that it is not nessecary and as it is not included in the list of dates, like whento fix cupboard or to send gifts. Please advice. Thanks. Selection of dates for registration is optional. With the many wedding dates I have done, most people normally do not bother about the registration dates. However, since I provided a list of dates for the date range (for example betweenJun 2006-Feb 2007), they are still free to choose a better date for the registration if they wish to. Or when to best send the gifts or an chuan etc. Some users do request for this. But since a range of dates are given to users, they are quite free to select the dates which best fit them. However, ultimately, it is the customary wedding date that is most important. But again all depends on individual, some people are so traditional that even the sending the bridal gift also need to select the best dates etc, others only bother about the actual wedding dates. Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: Thank you for your reply. However, even in my human luck, my family is not that close, unfortunately. The closest person to me, my little brother, just passed away. My other brother is in the Navy and travels all the time - has been to Iraq numerous times and helped in the tsunami (the Abraham Lincoln). Anyways, I also am single . I do have some very close friends, whose parents are wonderful to me in a loving way. So, perhaps that counts. I hope so anyways. Yes, any good friends will also count. Just that in most cases family bonding if any would probably be stronger. But that does not mean that good friends will have weaker relationships. Sometimes, friendships can be even stronger than family relationship. Anyway, it is the same borrowing luck from other people is just the same as borrowing luck from people close to you. For example, if you have good relationship with your boss for example, this is also another form of borrowing luck from your boss, as your boss is likely to look out for you etc. Hope that helps. Dear Patty Rown, patty rown wrote: I am moving into a small apartment and the rules are no painting, wallpaper and of course I can not relocate any appliances. Given that you mentioned that you have lots of limitations, it is going hard to be able to suggest anything. And thus, you may have to live with some of the flaws you cannot correct. patty rown wrote: My kitchen is narrow and small and the stove and sink are facing each other,(stove on one side, the sink on the other). Yes, though stove and sink facing each other isn't that ideal. However, therethere is nothing much you can do at this point given that you can relocated anything. But I don't think it will be too bad considering that most small kitchen have such an arrangement due to space constrain. Try correcting other flaws that you are able to correct. patty rown wrote: To top it all off,my master bathroom is the room behind the stove and my toilet is located behind the stove. My Kua # is 8 and my husbands is #2,we are both west groups. The front door of the apartment faces westerly. The kitchen in question is in the East. The stove faces the South side. my bathroom and part of my kitchen share the fame area. Please tell me what I can purchase to off set this bad arrangement. Your help is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, there is nothing much you can do with such a fixed layout. However, good news I can say is your husband which is Kua 2, and since the house face West, it is generally suitable for your husband. As for you, the house also suits you as as Kua 8, West is Longevity. Ktichen located in the East, would proably be more related to you (or the spouse who mostly use the kitchen more at least most cases are like this). Thus, the kitchen if located East will be Irritation for you which isn't too bad. The only thing I can say is to try to gain luck from other areas such as clothings colours, bedsheet colours or even car colour, career and people around you. Nothing much you can do about your home since there are restriction preventing you to do so. So you can only try to enhance other areas. Remember, that no home is perfect. Having one major flaw will not mean that you are doomed for failure. It just mean that your overall luck will be slightly reduced. So you will need to attempt to compensate from other areas in your life. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Fanty Fang, Fanty Fang wrote: I want to build house in near future. I want to have water pond since my element is strong fire. My question is where should i build that water pond (facing what direction) ? Frankly, I never like to answer such questions, this is because the only true way to determine which is the best location to place any water feature is to first have a detailed analysis done on the home to find out where are the auspicious stars and how is the surrounding environment. Only then will you know exactly where will be the most beneficial place to place a water feature that can effectively trap wealth. To simply tell you that it is good to place here and there with only considering one analysis, can sometimes be dangerous as not all aspects have been considered. As far as I can advise you here. Under the shapes and forms concept only. A water pond at the frontage of the house is good because you help trap wealth before it leaks to other home. So placing a water feature at the empty land in front of your home is ok. As to whether exactly where it front of your home should be place based on your frontage, you will need to determine that by doing a flying star of the house and find out where is the auspicious water star (ie star 8 for period 8 house). That location would be most beneficial for the water feature. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
