Dear Wong Jon, Wong Jon wrote: The color is light blue with patches of white over covering the blue. This applies to my living room while my other rooms are all white for the ceiling. Although, light blue should be still be acceptable. But in feng shui is it generally better for ceiling to be keep white (Metal) a neutral colour. The rest of the room can be painted blue with clouds, that is fine. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Sophia, Sophia Chia wrote: I have a question which I can't find in your forum regarding reading the layout of the coffeeshop (restaurant). How do I check which direction of the store in acoffeeshop. Should I take the store direction facing at the main entrance of the coffee shop or at the entrance of the coffee shop facing the main road. Another option I may take his husband direction. Am I right.!!As a friend ofmy daughter (their family)whom I known some years ago. They told metheirbusiness is getting worse (previouslystore another estate no business after5 years and presently this store less thana year). From what Itold them it could bethe store logo and the element of his husband. Please advice me here. For any shop front, you take the facing direction where most customers enter in and out of the shop. This applies to all Shop which have a Shop Front. There can be many issues that might be causes. For resturants / coffeeshop usually, it is the food that will ultimately be the determining factor whether people will come to shop or not. That will ultimately be the drawing point. Unless, the shop is located in an inaccessible area there usually should be no problem getting people to go to the place if the food is good. Even better if the place is nice, clean and air-conditioned. Another issue, could be not everyone is suitable to run their own business. Some people have the so call businessman type of chart, while others are better off working for others.Or simply,he could be enteringin a bad luck period sowhatever hedoes things just don't go well for him. Usually, these are the common causes. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards RobertLee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My HDB unit's main door faces North East and it also directly faces my living room windows which are from ceilling to floor.Friends told us that these facings are bad. There are many factors to look at before one can even comment on whether the house is good or bad. ie External Shapes and Form - whether any external building across your home cuts into your home, the Qi flow for your block etc. ie Flying Star of the house - you need to know what is the direction of the home to actually determine how is the house luck. ie. Suitability to the home (eight house & ba zi) - you need to know if the owner and rest of the family member suits the house so as to enjoy the max amount of luck from the home itself. So it hard to comment on whether your home fits each of the above, unless you review it. Only then will one be able to access if there are major or minor influence affecting the house. Then you know if the house will be classifed good or bad. Some homes have minor leaks that are correctable, so not as bad. But some have major leaks or very unsutiable homes, then that will be harder to correct. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I have hung an oil painting of 9 koi fishes in our living room. The fishes look active and very alive, except that the background, supposed to be water, is more to the greenish colour. Is this considered inauspicious? It is always hard to comment something which we cannot see. However, most pond water tends to be greenish especially when painted at certain time of the day. Also, if the pond is very deep, the colour of the water (though blue), may seems dark greenish. I guess, there shouldn't be an issue as it is probably the painter trying to make it as realistic as possible. More important is usually the koi fishes. As long as they are fairly active and nice body size (ie not too fat or not to skinny), then should be ok. Hope that helps. Dear Sophia, Sophia Chia wrote: I come across from one of the articles if we will to sell the house we can check the ba zi the auspicous time for the buyer to have a look of the house. There is very little feng shui aspect that you can do to improve the sale of the house. Like you mentioned, the best would be to check out the best ba zi day or time, which might boost your overall luck. But ultimately, whether a potential buyer even notices that you have a house for sale depends on your real-estate agent's ability to get people to notice your unit is for sale. Ultimately, your location, priceof your home, how clean it looks etc. All these will be the determining factor for whether a buyer even considers to buy the place. Nothing else can really help you otherwise. There is no such quick fix to enable you to sell your home. Hope that helps. Dear Kalvin, Kalvin Toh wrote: I need some help as i am chosing the paint for my new house, i am a strong metal and wife is weak water. Now I am choosing a paint for my flat and didn't know what colour to choose from. Can anyone help? Water would be your most favourable binding element. Strong metal likes Water to exhaust the excess Metal, while weak water needs more Metal and Water to make it stronger. So any light shades of blue/black/gray (Water element) would be an element favourable to both. A little Wood element shades (Green/Brown) and Metal (white/gold) together with Water element will be good. This is because Water element makes both of you strong, while Wood will then create wealth for yourself and help balance out any excessive Water element. In a bedroom, it is best to use a series of element ie Metal -

Dear Karen, Chong Karen wrote: Recently I just read a article about the feng shui which published in Xin Ming Ri Bao dated 25.07.2005. It talk about the best facing house for period 8 is falling on North-East. North-East have 3 different position that is Face Chou (22.5) Sit on Mo (202.51), Face Gen (52.5) sit on Kun (232.5)and face Yin (67.5)sit on sheng (247.5). According the article he say For period 8 only Face the Chou (22.5) will be the best andthe others 2 is unluky. It is true? If I am not wrong this analysis is just based on the Flying Star. So it will be based on the best possible house luck for the period 8. You also have to consider the suitability which will also ultimately determine if the house will eventually benefit you. But you should always remember that flying star analysis is just one aspect of feng shui, you must always consider other factors influencing the house such as the external feng shui as well as suitability. The reason is say that North-East facing is good flying star, but if it is death or disaster to the breadwinner, then it may not be as good as another direction which has less flying star house luck but suitable ie Prosperity or with a better enternal feng shui. So you need to really look at all aspects. It is never advisable to just take a generally advise and expect it to work for everyone. Chong Karen wrote: If true, how to find the actual reading for main door facing? Is stand in middle of house or outside the house. By using compass or Lou Pan which is more accurate? We have came up with some definition for how to obtain the facing direction of the house:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm By default, you first determine your home:- a. If landed property, take the facing of the house itself as your frontage. b. If apartments (2nd - 7th level), take the main door direction facing. c. If apartments (8th level), take the living room/balcony facing. Hope that helps. Warmest regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I'm a gua 7 that makes the east a death sector. However star 6 is metal, 1 is water, and under bazi I'm strong fire. Is it as bad for me? Death sector is the worst of the 4 bad direction under the eight house. The East sector of the house is Wood element. as a Strong Fire, wood only makes you stronger, thus is considered again a unfavourable suitability. So it means that you are entirely not suited for any bedroom or facing direction of a house that is East. The flying star of the bedroom isn't too bad. However, as long as your bedroom is unsuitable, no matter how good the luck of the room, you will simply not be able to benefit from it. Anonymous wrote: With the house as period 8, Facing N1, my master bedroom which is in the east sector now have the number 6, f-1,s-6 which makes it 166. Is this good? With a Gua 7 person, North facing house is Disaster for you. With a unsuitable house Diaster and Death sector bedroom, no matter how good the house luck, you will not be able to benefit from the house as it you just don't suit the house. So in the long run, you should seriously consider to move out to a better home so that you can enjoy a quantum leap in feng shui. The flying star sector isn't that bad. So house luck probably still ok. But once you don't suit the house, no matter how good the flying star, you will only be able to enjoy say 25% of the entire house luck. That is why suitability to a house is very important. Suitability is unfortunately one area you cannot simply correct. Enhancing the house luck can probably help you maximise the remainder of the 25% suitability that you can enjoy. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Is it advisable for a strong water person to make investment in share market? I believe share market falls under fire element. The art of investment is Metal element. While the general Share Market is Earth element. Fire because it deals with lots of selling. As a Strong Water person., Fire/Earth is favourable for you. Metal may make you overly strong so the overall is considered favourable because it consist of Fire - A Strong Water will benefit from this career, but a weak water person will not. Fire and Earth will destroy your weak water. So much so that the Metal influence from investment will be overwhelmed. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: However I do not understand from the diagram, wood is only 26% whereas fire is 42% how come wood is the strongest. Likewise for water and metal water is 7% but metal is the weakest. The Strongest / Strong / Weak / Weakest / Extremely Weak all are the element's strengthen based on the season of your birth. What that means is that you have 26% of Strong Wood, aand 7% of Weakest Metal. It is based on the precentage that you will eventually determine if you have too much or too little of an element. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I was told by a few people that I'm a weak fire according to my bazi. Fromyour bazi analysis I was deduced as a Strong fire, but I thought the bazi analysis of my birth month is supposed to take into consideration of the season already. Please help identify my elements. I don't know how detailed your analysis was done. However, I can tell you are strong simply because:- Element Strength Percentage 1 Water Weak 7 % 2 Wood Strongest 26 % 4 Fire Strong 42 % 1 Earth Extremely Weak 2 % 4 Metal Weakest 21 % There are many factors that will influence whether you are weak or strong. In your chart, you also have several combinations or joins which convert your original element to having more Wood and Fire. In addition, your season of birth is just at the start of the Spring, which means that earth is always extremely weak between the transition of seasons. This means that your Fire is Strongest. and Wood Strong. Favourable elements -26% Wood and 24% Fire (Total: 50%) Unfavourable elements - 21%Metal and 7% Water (Total: 30%) Earth cannot be taken into consideration because it both exhaust Fire as well as destroy Water and strengthen Metal. As such, becomes a double edge element that shouldn't be conidered either in Favourable or Unfavourable. Since you have more favourable elements, you arenaturally considereda Strong Fire. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Fely, Fely Aquino wrote: Please refresh my knowledge again. The Eight House has North location as the main door. What if the home's main door faces any of the other locations (ie, West, Northeast, etc)? How do you determine the bad and good locations in this regard? The facing of the house you should determine by our facing direction rule set:- 1. Landed Property - ie facing of the house itself. Depends on the orientation of the house itself. 2. Apartment (2nd level - 7th level) - ie main door of the house as your facing direction of the house 3. Apartment (8th level and up) - ie living room or balcony as your facing directiondirection. This will be the facing of house. A house can say face East but the main door can be found on the North-East etc. The next is the superimposing of the Eight House chart over the layout plan. You just need to orientate the chart's North direction to the true North direction for your home. Then the various sectors of the eight house will fall exactly in place. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: What cures can you suggest if the home that I would like to purchase and to bebuilt this year havebad room locations? Should I just look for another home plan?I am a North person, main door is facing North. The land and surrounding area is good. The builder's layout plan is as follows: What you need to understand that is that, there is no way you can fix a suitability issue. If a house does not fit you, then always best to look for another more suitable house. There is no way to correct this. You can attempt to improve other feng shui flaw to offset this. However, if a house does not fit you, it means you cannot get the maximum amount of luck from the house. If a bedroom cannot suit that person, then you best select another bedroom that can bring you better luck. So either you find a better bedroom, or if you are building your own home, then ensure you build the room in the good sector for the various family members. The two most important is the suitability of the house to the breadwinner. Once you get a house that is not suitable, you cannot correct this. The bedroom not being as suitable, is still acceptable if the house at least fit you. However, ideally you want everything to fit you so that you can get maximum amount of luck from it. So unless your builder can accmodate your changes, else probably my advise is look for a more suitable home that fits you and your family. Hope that helps. Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: Now I understand the percentages, but what I don't understand is why is 7 Fire, for example, considered "Extremely Weak" when it obviously has the highest percentage (56%) compared to all other elements in my chart. The Extremely weak is based on the seasonal influence based on your month of birth that will influence all the elements present in your chart. This extremely weak is the strength of the Fire element given your season of birth. As to whether you are weak or strong will eventually be based on how many of each elements you have after the seasonal influence, the number of each element you have is computated. The 56% is computated after considered that the Fire is Extremely weak element but because you have 7 elements that makes it 56% strong when you compared it to other five elements in your chart. Rachel Rachel wrote: I don't understand what the numbers next to each element really mean, for example, "7 Fire", and "2 Earth", and "1 Wood". Thing is, shouldn't "7" Fire or "2 Earth"be considered stronger, compared to "1 Wood" because 7 or 2is more than 1??? So how come "1 Wood" is listedas "Strong" whereas "7 Fire" and "2 Earth" are listed as "extremely Weak" and "Weakest"??? The number there simply represents how may elements is found in your birth chart. The seasonal strengthen of each element is what whether the Fire is weak or Strong in reference to the season of your birth. The percentage will then show you if you have lots of it or very little of it. Rachel Rachel wrote: P.S. and also, since my unfavourable elements are fire and water, should I still try to increase the element of water, since according to this report, it says that I should because water is only 13%?? The ideal scenario for everyone is to have 20% of each five element. However, in reality this is very difficult for anyone to determine. So we can only based on the fact that if you have less than 20% of an element, having a little more will be good to help bring your chart in balance. This is why everyone will need to have a little of each element. It does not mean that you should only have one element. But a portion of each of the Five different element. Since it is hard to tell you how much of any element you have at anytime. You therefore make use of the birth element ie a Strong Water person for example will mean that having Wood, Fire and Earth are generally favourable for you. But depending on how much of each element you have you might need more of a certain element than another. This is where the percentage will come in handy to help you. ie if you have 5% Wood and 40% Fire, then it means you would benfit to have more Wood, than Fire. While as a Strong Water, Metal and Water is unfavourable element. Thus, if you have 76% Metal, and 1% Water, it means you are strong because of too much metal, so metal should be avoided as much as possible, while Water though unfavourable for you. You can still have some Water to help balance up your element. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Wanama, Wanama Thefirst wrote: I have a question about my best directions and my real element. There are two concepts in feng shui that can be used on direction:- 1. Eight House or suitability is often used on house facing direction andbed / study / work direction. More on smaller scale application. 2. Ba Zi element or direction is often used more on macro application. ie Staying in the Northern part of the Earth, North part of the country, house element direction etc. It is less used on a smaller scale level. The reason why the two concepts can sometimes have conflicting information is simple. Eight House is based on YEAR of birth, while Ba Zi Element is based on your full date and time of birth. So ba zi will be essentially more accurate. However, you cannot discount the Eight House concept also because it is simple yet have a strong influence over especially suitability issues. Wanama Thefirst wrote: I am gua3wood therefore my best directions are S,SE,N,E,but here is where I get confused,my real element is strong m?tal,do my best direction stay the same or do they change since metal is in the NW and W directions in the luo pan.I am asking this because my home is in SW3 facing position and was build in period 6.My bedroom is in the N with M5W8B2,is this a good direction for me or should I change room.My bed head is set against the NE wall, and I believe the M3W6B9 .Thank you for taking time to explain! Once you understand the above. Then you can better apply the concept. Ideally, the best direction would be one where both your Eight House and Ba Zi element are both suitable. Where a person is unable to obtain such a direction, then you should always make sure that the house fits your eight house direction and avoid Death or Disaster. Ba Zi suitability can still be improve or corrected but Eight House cannot. As such, it is more important to get a house that must fit your eight house suitability. So you need to make sure as the breadwinner of the house, the house must suit you based on your Eight House. Which means South (Prosperity), South-East (Longevity), North (Heatlth), East (Excellent). Then next match your element direction, ie strong Metal, would be Water (North), Wood (East/South-East), Fire (South). In your case, both your eight house and ba zi element are exactly the same. I am not sure why you worry about the NW/W since your best direction are not NW/W but SW2. Thus your element of the house is Earth element and suitability is Disaster. Not the ideal house for your suitability or and not a good element house foryou as Strong Metal person. Bedroom for you is North so is suitable for you. Bed position for you is North-East (Irritation). Not favourable sleeping position for you. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: You mentioned that for a weak metal person like me, working in my career with wealth element (in my case, wood) would not bring me much wealth because I need to be stronger, i.e. in contact with Earth. Yet I also noticed that in my career report,in my "career with wealth" section, there was a table which illustrated the following : There is a difference in having some wealth luck and being able to control it effectively so that it benefits you. Each person will have different amount of Wealth luck made up of earned wealth and unexpected wealth luck. Rachel Rachel wrote: Earned Wealth : Wood : 3 Unexpected Wealth : Wood : 0 This simply means that you have a total of 3 wealth luck (which is at most considered average since most people have between 2-4. Excellent wealth luck would be having like 5-7. It also tells me that your wealth luck comes more from your own hardwork rather than from like luck from say lottery winnings etc. Wood is often related to Wealth for a Metal person. If you are a Strong Metal person, you can effectively control your wealth ie Metal can cut down the Wood. But if you are a weak Metal, it is like you take a pen knife to attempt to cut down a 100 year old tree with a tree trunk as thick as a car tyre. You just are not strong enough to destroy the wood. Thus, in order to benefit from a career with wealth you need first to have lots of Earth and Metal to strengthen yourself. Only then can you benefit from the having a career with wealth. So having some wealth luck isn't the same as being able to effectively control it. It is two entirely different issues. So it is the same here for your Career with Power and Authority - Fire career. You can only benefit from having a career with great power and authority only when you are strong enough. But under your own chart. It means that you have some Authority deities and determination which is 2 each. That is again just average. Authority tends to refer to ability to lead ie leadership quality, while determination is simply how determined a person you are. On both qualities you are average. That's basically the difference or meaning behind it. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Quote: hi, i am currently searching for a suitable location for my outdoor wedding photo-shooting, could you advise me on whether which part of Singapore or place is the most auspicious one. Is there any things to avoid of? thank in advance. I personally, don't think you should worry about whether the location for your shoot is auspicious or not. As the location auspicious or not isn't going to affect your wedding. Probably finding a nice environment or scenery would be more important so that you have nice memory of the shot as a memory. Generally, any shades of colour that is still off-white nature or extremely light is still acceptable however, not advisable where you can avoid it. This is because, blue in I-Ching tends to represent water. Having water on your roof or ceiling will represent difficulty. So not very auspicious in terms of Feng Shui point of view. The best colours for rooms is always light shades of a particular. For ceiling it is best to keep white (Metal) which will be a neutral colour. Hope that helps.
