  1. Dear Maria, Maria Lourdes Sinahan wrote: How can I (yi) reduce the harm inflicted on me by wei person. What does it mean "To reduce tension between wei and yi, one should arm oneself with yi?". Frankly, it is harder to reduce any harm that between two person by using yi. This is because, in terms of ba zi, a harm is where two animal signs conflict. And to neturalise such an effect, it is said you need a 3rd animal sign that helps to resolve the conflict. This is really hard to always have a 3rd party animal sign in order to create harmony. Thus, a better way is based on the two element of the ba zi. ie one is weak water another is strong wood. Therefore the binding element or element to improve or reduce conflict is metal element. Having more of this element ie in the decoration (ie metal=white/gold), will help to reduce and improve the relationship between the two person. Hope that helps. 2. Dear Elmo, elmo boy wrote: I have read that most HDB "main door" is actually not at the living room door of the HDB apartment. It is actually where the most light and wind come in. I just got a apartment and the living room door face anotherapartment unit's door. While the other direction of my flat is my balcony where most wind and light come in. This depends on the whether the layout. Some layout is such that the facing of the house is better taken from where most like comes into the house. We have actually written an article on this subject:- 3. Landed property, best to take the facing of the house. So based on that to define your home should be ok. Only under very unqiue situation then for those staying in houses (1), then you might have to take the balcony or living room direction. elmo boy wrote: 2) There is another blk of flat( 12 storey high) which isopposite my apartment (16 floor)as shown in the pic. Thecornerof the blkfacemy balcony and the other 2 bedrooms. Is this consider a posion arrow even if i am not on actualsame level as this blk??? Given that yours is 4 storey higher floor, it is still a posion arrow, but will have lesser impact to your home as you are higher. elmo boy wrote: 3) My best direction (West)is my wife worst direction..which i intend to place our bed..What can i do to solve this?? Firstly, check if there is a direction that is like spook/irritation. If not, then you should try to position where both of you do not sleep closer to your death or disaster sector. Usually, you are considered the breadwinner, therefore priority goes to having a suitable house. Then your spouse will get a more suitable bedroom. After which, just find a direction where you avoid the Death or Disaster facing. Or sleep closer to side of the bed, clsoer your good sector. elmo boy wrote: 4) Thanks for advices and by the way what is yr charges for 5 room HDB audit?? 3. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We bought a new house. The main door is facing NW. Heard the 'wu-huang-sha' (5-yellow-sha) is on NW this year 2005 so it is not good to renovate. Is that ok if we start the renovation now but only move in next year (2006) after Lunar New Year? Firstly, is this a period 7 (1984-2003) house or period 8 (2004-2023) house. The reason I ask this is because, if it is a period 7 house or earlier, then any major renovation work done will change the house period. So the luck of the entire house might change for the better or worst depending on the charts. Generally, if you have a star 5 in the main door this year, of course, the worry would be that if the NW sector star is not balanced enough, it might activate the yearly star. This may the main door sector less auspicious for this year. However, this will impact your house luck if you are staying there this year. So it should not be a major issue to start work on it this year. But you should at least choose a good date to begin work. And it will pass away after the start of the Chinese New Year, then move in to stay. What most people will want to avoid is actually offending the Grand Duke ie West 270 degree should avoid any major renvoations. If work is really necessary, then at least perform a small prayer to seek forgiveness before you start. And choose a good date to begin the renovation to minimise any impact. Anonymous wrote: Besides, in front of the main door, if I stand facing outside, on my right top about 100m, I can see thesharp corner roof of my neighbour house. Is changing the main door direction the only way, or any other ways to exhaust the 'cha qi'? Thanks a lot! Usually, for most external Sha Qi such as this. If you can have either some plants in between the Sha Qi and your door. Or have some kind of partition in your house just before you enter into the house, these two can help to block the Sha Qi that you are mentioning. If the above two methods are not possible, then you may have no choice but to place a circular mirror or a bagua to help deflect the Sha Qi. Hope that helps. 4. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My husband and I are trying to have a baby and we realized that if I were to conceive in Nov05/Dec05/Jan06. The baby will most likely be deliveredduring the Chinese 7th month next year. Should we avoid this? We are worried thatour baby'sdestiny will be affected if he/she is born in aninauspicious month. Please kindly advise. Generally, a child's birth date is often less impact by the fact the month is Chinese 7th month or Qing Ming or etc. Each day will create a different luck for the baby. It is very hard to tell you how the luck will be unless you check the ba zi for every day within next year to see which day is better. Even that, different hours will also influence his luck. Most people would normally worry more like whether the year is good or bad rather than whether the baby will be good or bad based on the a specific month. However, if you are really concerned, of then you might want to consider conceiving a little later just to avoid that month. However, as far as Chinese 7th month or any events is concerned, this is considered a minor issue for a Ba Zi of a child. It does not mean that those born in Chinese 7th month will have more bad luck than others. It is the day and time that is born that will influence the baby luck. Since conceiving a child is really something very special. I would rather you just leave it up to nature. It does not mean that you plan for it and it will just happen. Sometimes it might not go exactly as you plan as well. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research.
  5. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My friends & my aunt have a same Feng Shui problem in their house. Which is a bedroom's door facing another door opposite. Under feng shui, when two doors faces it each other, there will be a higher tendency for the people staying in the house or room to have more quarrels/conflicts. Anonymous wrote: I heard that when 2 doors facing each other, the person who is sleeping in the 2 bedrooms will have a lack of communication or will have quarrels. Is that true? This is especially so of the doors are very close to one and another. In most homes, this is quite common now-a-days due to the small availablility of space. However, if it is a problem between one bedroom and another. This will usually not be as great as a problem compared to neighbour to neighbour. No matter what, family members will usually be able to tolerate each other, thus less likely to have as much conflicts compared to a neighbour. Anonymous wrote: Is there any wayto solve this problem? I would really like to know it. The most practical way, is to keep the door close when not in use. This will reduce the potential conflict of such a door to door configuration in most homes. For family room to room issue, another way is to find out the common binding element between the persons staying in the room. Then painting the rooms in an element common to the person so as to attempt to bring harmony. This will also help to reduce potential confilcts. For neighbour to neighbour, such an layout will be harder to resolve. Most consultant might recommend putting a bagua or mirror to reflect the Qi. However, I would find that this will create more conflicts then good. So I would rather you work on improving your Human Luck, ie creating better relationship with your neighbour by a friendly greeting or inviting them for some gathering you have. The better you can improve relationship, the less conflicts there will be. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  6. Dear Jessie, Anonymous wrote: I'm sorry if this has been asked b4 as i am fairly new to this website. I'm in the process of buying a house and the house I really like happens to be number 4. Now we all know most Chinese don't like it especially the Cantonese. If I'm not mistaken I read somewhere in your report the number 4 is quite auspicious but I can never find it again. Canyou pls confirm it one more time for me? Thanks and regards, - Jessie. Whether a house number is auspicious or not is really an individual preference. 4 in cantonese sounds like the word die. So to most Chinese, they would probably avoid it as fair as possible. This might have some future implications especially when you do later want to sell the home. However, again there are also lots of people who do not bother about it and/or to them 4 is their lucky number. So to these people, it doesn't matter to them at all. ie 4 leave clover is considered lucky. It contains 4 also but not really bad for this case. Ultimately, whether or not a home is really auspicious depends on the layout and external environment of the house. The house number is good to have if it is a nice number, but won't really directly affect your home luck except for when it comes to selling it later. As there will be certainly a number of people who will be put off by the number 4. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  7. Dear Anon, Since a house may have different facing direction (be it main door or living room/balcony). It really depends firstly on what you are assessing. ie. Assesment of interior of the feng shui can be taken from the centerpoint of the house to the main door. This way is good because the facing and sector of the main door will be same. However, this assesment is limited to assesing the feng shui only within the 4 walls of the house. ie. Assessment of the main door facing direction (ie standing at the main door looking out.) This is the for apartment level 2-7th level. This is where the main door may be facing North, but can be located in a different sector of the house. ie. Assessment of living room/balcony direction (ie standing at your living room looking out). This is for apartment level 8th level and u. This is where the facing of the house is taken from where most light enter into the house. Or where there is consdered virtual water at the frontage due to the height and unobstructed view. This is again, where the facing may be facing North, but the location of main door/frontageof the can be in a different sector of the house. ie. Assessment of the landed property or building (ie. the facing of the house is based on the direction of the building). This is where the facing may be North, but the location of the main door/frontage may be at a different sector of the house. So essentially, they are all correct. In terms of feng shui, what is most important is for the suitability assesment of breadwinner. Where the main door/frontage is suitable. For finding rooms or assessing the feng shui of the flying star, is based on the location of each sector. Hope that helps. 9. Dear Sophia, Sophia Chia wrote: The Death/Disaster location is inauspicious to the breadwinner. I would like to clarify. Let said, eg.by taking the compass readingthe direction of the housein North which symbolise three inauspicious segments according toEight Mansions (Na Jia Ba Zhai) (2 death and 1 spooky) and not suitable to the occupant unless by taking the breadwinner direction SW somehow the 3 segments of the Eight Mansions shown 1 excellent, 1 death and 1 disaster. Does that mean theoccupant have the options to stay the house or to move. The occupant have been staying the North house for 10 years. Frankly, as long as a house is considered Death or Disaster under the eight house suitability it is often considered not the most ideal house. If at least the ba zi suitability is favourable, then it may slightly offset the death or disaster sector under the eight house. As long as the flying star of the house (ie feng shui of the house), isn't too bad, then even if the house isn't the most suitable, but of the house has good feng shui, these will also help to offset the unsuitability. So overall, one has to consider the overall feng shui influence. Then determine how bad is the house. Usually, when a house is unfavourable, it means that the breadwinner may not be able to get the maximum amount of luck from the house. So in the long run, of course it would be better to move out to a more suitable house to get a quantum leap in feng shui luck. Hope that helps. 10. Dear Gray Thay, Gary Thay wrote: I brought HDB unit in period 7 and I painted all the Ceiling in 2004, does that put my unit into Period 8 ? The problem here is that painting all the ceiling is only a symbolic action in order to attempt to emulate a major renovation of removing the roof of a house. So itisn't truly a major renovation. So it will take time (sometimes 1 year) for your house Qito convert to the period 8. Usually, if you want to expedite the change, you may need to have a few major celebrations in the house to attempt to quicken the change over to the new period. Hope that helps. 11. Dear Sophie, sophie corcoran wrote: me and my boyfriend are both west/metal group people but i have recently realised the house we are having built is a fire house (front door faces north/northwest). sophie corcoran wrote: will this be a problem? Firstly, you have to determine the facing of the house. A Fire house is a house that facese South actually. North facing house is Water house, while North-West is Metal house. Whether or not it is big issue depends on the suitability based onyou and your boyfriend'sthe Eight House and Ba Zi. ie. for Eight House as long as the facing direction is not Death or Disaster especially for the breadwinner, then it is ok. Spook or Irritation though also not as good but not as bad. ie. for the Ba Zi as long as the direction is one of your favourable element. Even if this is not so favourable, a person can enhance his or her ba zi by other method (ie career, colour etc). ie. Of course the best direction is one where both eight house and ba zi direction are favourable. It is often not possible to have the house both suitable to breadwinner and spouse simply unless both have similiar eight house suitability. So priority is the breadwinner must be suitable to the house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  12. Dear Mei Yee, mei yee wrote: I am a single owner of a flat and my litchen in the flat is in the SE ans S which are my favarable directions, including N. However, i learned that the stove should be located in one of the bad directions of the 'spouse' and face the good direction. Before answering your questions, I would just like to point out a few issues. Ideally, it is nice if everything can be perfect. However, in reality, not everything can be placed in such a way that everything is auspicious under the various feng shui concepts. This is virtually impossible unless you custom build your home from scratch. Thus, you must understand that that in feng shui there are major and minor issues. What is important is to correct and fix up all major issues. The rest which is termed as minor issues, there is no real issue if you place it here or there. Especially smaller everyday used items. These you should place wherever is most practical for you to use, rather than based on feng shui placement. You should always attempt to position or place furnitures to the best of what you can do. When it is impossible or no choice, then you just have to make with the best and most practical arrangement. mei yee wrote: I have a problem, when i place the stove against the wall to movecloser to the NW and the mouth of the stove faces SE, behind the wall is mybed and i cant put it anywhere else because that's the best position since my bedroom is in the NW / Nof the flat and the head points SE. Like you mentioned, since there is no other way, then it will have to do. Anyway, the most important thing in a home is:- A.Suitability of the house to the breadwinner. B. Favourable Bedroom for the breadwinner, spouse and other family members. C. Kitchen and other key rooms like Study or Office room. As long as the house is favourable to the breadwinner, and the bedroom is also suitable to the family members, the rest of the room even not so suitable or favourable is perfectly ok. You need to focus on what is important and prioritise what should be given the best. Of course it is ideal if your kitchen can be located in the best sector especially for the main person who cooks there, but sometimes this is not possible. There are only a few good and bad sectors for every person. So as long as the key areas are given best suitability, it is perfectly ok that the other rooms are less auspicious etc. In most apartment especially in Singapore, a stove and sink are two areas not possible to be corrected or moved due the position of the piping etc. But as mentioned, these areas in the home where if you can have it in the better direction of course it will be better, but if not it will not create too much of a problem as well. Otherwise, everyone in singapore who has a bad stove position will be facing problems. So place it the most practical sector for use. What is more important would then be like where you place the moveable objects(ie. fridgeshould not face the stove directly if possible else there is a clash between water and stove etc). mei yee wrote: If i create an island stove so that it's mouth can still face the SE, is it sitting closer to NW? Please advice, im really lost. Frankly, in most kitchen layout, the better layout is always to avoid island type of design. For two practical reasons. If you have an island type of design, the likelyhood is the sink will be located on the opposite side of the island. One danger is where you have kids, and often you need to bring a hot pan over to the kitchen sink which is 180 degree behind. You may bumb into your kids and scale them. In addition, you will have a scenario where the sink is located opposite of the stove and that is like water and fire clashing. Thus, the most practical is always have the stove and sink at 90 degrees of each other for small kitchen especially. mei yee wrote: What about rice cooker or electrical appliances, where is the 'mouth'? mei yee wrote: i hears that the mouth for electrical appliances like rice cooker, microwave, conventional oven, electric multi cooker, even toaster are at the plug of the gadget is that right? As mentioned, these have small impact towards you whether you place it in this direction or another. So really, better to place them where it is easy & practical for you to use. Hope that helps. 13. Dear Lisa, Lisa Pirkkala wrote: I am really enjoying your site and use it frequently, even for friends. I need some information to clear up confusion. I use the east/west system and take my compass readings from the inside looking out. I have been drawing up different charts, as I think my real facing direction is actually east as that is where my big picture window and deck face, whereas in my condo complex my front door is actually 270 d west and enter into a small hallway above a staircase...should I try both templates? or do I use just the direction my front door faces, with me standing inside my condo looking out? Or do I stand in my sliding glass door in the back of my condo facing east that overlooks my most unencumbered view? Firstly, you should attempt to determine which is your house facing direction. 1. For landed property (ie bungalow/semi-bungalow/terrace), it is best to take the facing direction of your home itself. 2. For Apartment (2nd-7th Level), take the main door direction. ie stand inside your house at the main door looking outwards. 3. For Apartment (8th level and up), take the balcony or living room. ie inside your home looking outside the balcony. Since yours is a condo. Therefore, determine whether it falls under 2 or 3. Any thing above 7th level is considered to have unblock view from the balcony as such we always considered having clear space or virtual water. Lisa Pirkkala wrote: The other confusion is this: I have several books on Feng Shui, (Lillian Too, Larry Sang, etc. Ido not use any BTBFeng Shui)and there are conflicting views on where exactly to take compass readings. Some show that you should be outside, facing your front door for the reading. That would put the compass shot directly opposite. Also, the House Trigram formula...shows sitting direction and facing directions in direct conflict with compass east/west sitting and facing direction. How do I know if I have a Dui house as opposed to a Chen house? And is the compass east/west system just for my personal directions, or is it for my home too? Could you please explain the difference. I want to start applying Flying Star Feng Shui to my home, and I want to make sure I have the right formula to use mountain and water stars in different sectors. Frankly, there are many types of facing and direction so I cansay that most method are essentially correct. 1. Taking the main door from the centerpoint to main door. This kind of assessment is practical for assessing the flying star for the interior of the house only. The good thing about this is the sector of the main door falls the same as the facing direction. 2. Taking the main door direction standing at the main door. This assesment is good for apartment, but mostly for lower floors or where the door isn't located at odd directions (of which balcony or living room direction would be better). 3. Taking the balcony/living room direction standing at the balcony. This assesment is good in general for most apartment especially on higher floor where the Qi flow will be unblocked from the balcony direction. 4. Taking the facing direction from the main entrance of the building. This assessment is for assessing the feng shui luck for the entire building. 5. Taking the facing direction from the entrance of a plot of land. This assessment is for assessing the feng shui luck for the entire plot of land that the entire development is built on. So you see, there can be different facings depending on what is needed to be assess. There can be micro assessment only within the room within an apartment, apartment within a building. Macro assessment is for like the block of building within a development, plot of land within an area, or North sector of a country, or a country withinthe world. Often, the most important luck from a home comes more from the External shapes and form. How good or bad a feng shui of the house depends a lot from the external surrounding. So that is often the most important. When assessing the flying star of a home itself, it is just to balance up the sector especially the inauspicious sector, and attempting to activate the wealth luck to boost up your luck. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Since this is my address and I am a West person, and my house door will be facing the West. If 7 is also your kua number, then I would say that it is a suitable number. Of course, there can be many other ways to determine auspicious number. I often, find that house number is nice to have a good one, but more importantly is the house that has to be good feng shui. Reason for this is because for example 4 is bad to most chinese because it is like Die in cantonese. But to others it may be their luck number ie a four leave clover. So auspicious number is really subjective to the individual. No real right or wrong for a number. Anyway, 7 isn't considered any inauspicious nor have significant inauspicious meaning in general. Actually, once you do the move in ritual, ie bring in the rice and charcoal, those are already symbolic of moving in. It is providing the necessary food items to be able to cook in the house. This is suppose to seed the house with luck as well as essential food stuff for owners to be able to cook food. So whether or not the owner actually move in on the same night is not really necessary. 20. Dear Camelia, Camelia Estrada wrote: I am in the process of buying a new home. Each home has a model number. Should I consider the model # as important as the future street number and evaluate it on your house # section? Frankly, house number plays the least amount of impact on the house luck. The external shapes and form and the feng shui of the house itself is most important. Most will focus on the unit number only if there are two units of the exact same layout ie one is #04-01 the other is #08-01. Say you have such a choice then, you want to check to see which is better luck. In most cases, auspicious number analysis can be subjective. For example, if going just by sounding #04-01, because of the 4 which sounds like Die in cantonese, and 8 which is like fa (prosperity). Most chinese will prefer to go for #08-01. So unit number should not be the main focus of whether a house is good or not. That should be considered together with other factors. Hope that helps. I just can't see the logic of this....so wanted to seek your opinion. Thanks Frankly, whether or not a person can win lottery determines on luck. Individually, each person have certain amount of luck. Whether or not one will win depends on who's luck is best among the people who buy the 4D/Toto. Which is why it is so hard for most people to even touch a small prize. And why most of the time gambling isn't a guaranteed way to make money. In fact, you are more likely to lose the money you gamble due to odds. Most likely, this fortune teller is mixing some religion into his recommendations. ie not eating meat will mean less killing as such more likely to be blessed. However, personally I do not believe that there is anything that can help you in terms gambling. Gambling is all about luck. Whoever is luckiest is likely to win. That is why it is always better to depend on your own effort to make money rather than depend on lucky winnings. Hope that helps. I am not sure if I am getting this right. Actually, the flying star apartment number is designed for flats or apartment layout to determine the luck of the apartment on different levels. ie 5 level and 8 level which has better luck. It was never really designed for a house which is numbered differently. However, the concept behind the apartment number is #Level-Layout. In your case, I would simply use number and sounding to determine which is better. ie for example 8 = Fa or prosperity, while 6 = Lucketc. Or use your personal kua number to determine the luck:- ie. 6733 = 6 + 7 + 3 + 3 = 19 19 = 1 + 9 = 10 10 = 1+0 = 1 Thus, the number kua is 1. If you are a Kua 1 person, then it is favourable to you. Check our member area Kua Number analysis:- URL: http://login.geomancy.net Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: dear practitioner, i am renovating my bathroom. what would be the best color paint to use since the bathroom is located southwest on the top floor. i need to enhance my love life. i also need to know which other elements should i add. please provide details. my birthday is oct 17, 1969. thank you. please keep my name and identification very private. Generally, the safe colour to use for all rooms where a full flying star analysis isn't considered is always to use very light (near to off-white or white) colours. This colour will be able to neturalise any inauspicious Wood or Earth star under the flying star. In order to enhance your luck (be it for health/romance/wealth etc), the best way is to improve whatever you lack based on your ba zi. Thus, by having more elements in from the facing of your home, the colour scheme of your clothes/room/personal objects, suitable career element, people you are with etc. So the best element and colours can be determined from our free ba zi report as provided here in this link. In such a case, the only two possibility is to either have some plants at the corner of the room. Or to put some kind of partition at the door so that it will block the corner from cutting out to the door. See my attached graphic for an example.

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: i was born on 26.10.1971 at 6 am in india(kerala-quilon).now my question is when will i get pregnant.my partners date of birth is 16.05.1972 Frankly, there is no way to forecast when you will be pregnant. This is because it takes two different individual to make it happen. When it will happen will really depend on the both of you (if there are not health issues regarding having baby), then the rest depends on both. You can probably use like Ba Zi to determine which date is better so that you have more luck into having a baby. But otherwise, no way to really forecast from feng shui perspective. This depends more on your own human luck and effort. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
