Dear Hung, Le Viet Hung wrote: My kua is number 3, meaning I belongs to the East group people. My house have the main door facing the SE. One book on 8 houses theory stated that the house kua will be determined by the main door facing, i.e. in this case this house belongs to East group house. So I am suitatble to the house Le Viet Hung wrote: But at the same time, another book stated that the sitting of the house will determine the kua of the house, i.e. NW and therefore the house belongs to the West Group house. So I am not suitatble to the house Frankly, this will really depend on the how you define the facing or sitting direction. Which I must say can be confusing if you get it wrong. As far as our website and all our tools are concerned, Facing direction is related to the center of the compass looking outwards. Meaning that if you say face west. It means that you are standing at the center (East) looking towards West. Or if you take a normal compass your compass should be pointing West from where you stand. So when we say West (metal) is favourable for you means that if the house faces West it will be good for you. Reason for taking this is because West is where the Qi flow will be blowing from and as such where most of the Qi will be coming from. So when you face west, Good Qi is coming from the West into your home. So that is how we determine the facing direction. I am aware that there are some sites which states that you should be be sitting on the good side and face the opposite site. However, as we are talking about how Qi flow enters into the house, this would mean that you sit on your favourable site, it will be the Bad Qi that will be entering into your Home. You see when you talk about facing West your house main door/frontage faces West. As such when Qi flow comes in it comes flowing in from the West towards East. Since West is where the good Qi is from, don't you want these good Qi to be blowing into your home? If you take the other concept where you should sit in your good sector meaning that if West is good, you must sit West and your main door/frontage faces East. Since East isn't favourable for your, Qi flow in from East which is inauspicious, it will be like inviting bad qi into your home. So as far we, our website and tools are concern, when we talk about Facing West, we literally mean your facing direction should face West, this allows good/favourable Qi to flow into the house from the West side. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: I was just reading about human luck and that it can help improve Heaven and Earth luck. You went on to say about if you are a "weak person, your life path is not necessarily inauspicious. That your children (other's luck) can help you. I am a "weak wood". And my life has been difficult at times. Does the fact that I'm a weak wood mean that my life path will be hard, no matter what? I have no children. What exactly does weak wood mean and how can I help myself? Please help. Thank you... Being weakor Strong person does not make your life good or bad. It is how your ba zi luck period (ie 10-year/yearly luck) which changes from time to time. Whether such period favour or not favour you. If you find that most of your luck period is inauspicious, that isa clear sign that luck isn't with you most of the time. That means that you will have to work even harder to attain success. This you have to check out your ba zi luck to determine whether your luck is favourable or unfavourable to you. However, even for a person that does not have very auspicious luck period. Your luck can still be improve from the human luck factor, ie borrowing luck from other family members in your life. ie for a husband if the spouse has excellent luck, by being with her or letting her say run key areas of the business, will ultimately improve your overall business as you take advantage of her good luck to allow your business to succeed. Same goes for a family that has very good bonding, when in times of trouble, a strong family bonding will mean that everyone will pitch in whatever they can to help you get through the difficult period. Whereas, if you have weak family bonding, in times of trouble, they will not be there to help you and thus you will have to face the problem all by yourself. That is why I mentioned that having strong Human Luck can help transcent all difficulties and even improve your overall luck. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Quote: One should work in his/her wealth element career field to enjoy their wealth luck...... Frankly, as long as you work in one of your favourable elements and have favourable elements from your home, colour, and other areas, you will start to enjoy your favourable luck. With favourable luck, means you will be better able to take advantage of your wealth opportunities/luck. So it does not mean that people who does not go into wealth career will not be successful. The goal here is to get as much luck from all the various elements that you lack in your life. Quote: Does that mean that it does not help for the person to work in the wealth element career when that person does not have wealth luck to enjoy in the first place ( i.e. no wealth element in the bazi chart )? Quote: Or should he/she work in the wealth element career to improve their wealth luck? It does not matter if your career is your wealth career or not. What matters most is that say if you are a weak water, and you lack Metal and Water. So by having more elements favourable to you in as many areas of your life, you will then improve your own luck. Once you improve your own luck you will then benefit from any wealth opportunities that you encounter. ie. Career - Advertising (Water element) ie. Housse - East (Wood element) ie. Colours - Car/Bedroom/Clothes (Green/Brown - Wood, Blue/Black/Gray - Water) ie. People / family members - ie water/wood element Once you have as many of these areas in your favour, you will then boost up your existing luck period, year luck (which changes from time to time) so that they will be more suitable for you as such being able to take advantage of any wealth opportunities that come in your way. This is the only way any one can take advantage of their wealth. It is not by just focusing on what is the wealth career/element and only depending on that to bring you luck. Dear Stan Teoh, Stan Teoh wrote: Dear Master Robert, in this case what would be the facing direction for units 06-21? If standing in front of the main door should be South but if taking from the center of the house from the main door would be SW. I'm a bit confused here. Pls help to clarify. Thanks a lot. To simply most people's worry about the facing direction. Actually, whether you take centerpoint to main door or facing drection, both won't go wrong. Why? Simply because, there is macro and micro application of feng shui. When you use take the main door from centerpoint, you are accessing a flying star chart which can only be applied to the 4 walls of your home. Thus, we termed it as micro application of feng shui. The benefit here is that the sector where your man door is located will as so be where your main door is actually located. When take the facing direction, this is a macro application of the flying star, where you can use the same flying star chart to assess even the surrounding of the home (ie exterior feng shui as well). When you use this facing, what happens here is your facing direction is South, but when you superimpose the flying star or eight house chart your main door is located on the South-West sector of the home. This is considered macro application of feng shui. So this same analysis can be extended to view feng shui of the surrounding. Since external Qi flow enters into the house, if you take the macro analysis, you will be able to properly determine the various external qi flow which is ultimately more important than just depending on what luck is available within the 4 walls itself. Both charts will be applicable. So in order to simply and avoid confusion, it is best that users should take the macro feng shui which will generally give you a better ideal of how external Qi will enter into the house. So in this case, based on our definition of the house facing, you just take the 06-21 as South facing house. Will be better. Hope that helps. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: Does a block number of a flat/apartment have any significance in feng shui audit? The feng shui luck comes from the house interior and exterior surrounding layout. So the location of where the block is located and how it faces is more important than the unit number or apartment number. So you should focused a good layout or good surrounding rather than just the number. You should only consider the unit number only after you have made sure the house and surrounding are good. ie if there is two units of the same layout and facing direction, but one on higher or lower floor. Then you can check which unit number is better. Otherwise, block or apartment number comes as the least overall important compared to the location of the block. Hope that helps. So a Strong Water person will not benefit from Advertising as a career. Fire element is more like Marking or Sales. Unless you are doing more of sales related career, then it will be beneficial. Dear Anon, May I know what is your gender, date and time of birth? Frankly, our analysis does a very indepth analysis of a person's ba zi, meaning it breaks down all the element into percentage then from the percentage evaluation it will evalute whether a person is weak or strong. This is done through determing your seasons of birth, combinations of elements and lots more. I am not able to comment on your previous reading done. As I have seen many other masters who analysis is so brief that the birth element strength will not be properly determined. So this is very likely the case here. That is why they determined you as a weak water instead of strong water. All I can say is that if the free report determined you as a Strong Water, than it means that the percentage of your favourable Metal+Water will be greater than Wood+Earth. Fire since it is a double edged element ie destroy your Metal and exhust Wood so is considered neutral and thus cannot be used to side either favourable or unfavourable elements. The only difference between free and paid report, is that the free report will not show you the detailed percentage breakdown. Only the basic information. Hope that helps. Sorry to learn about your situation. No sure what advise to give you here, really. I mean the thing I can see is that if there are lots of existing tensions between the two of you, it would be obvious that there isn't going to be harmony within the house itself. Harmony is the key in Feng Shui being able to get the maximium amount of luck from your environment. ie if everyone feels good at home, they feel happy, work better. But if you feel bad, distress it will affect everything from work to family relationship. So unless something is worked out between the two of you, really it is going to be hard to enjoy the fruits of your labour. I mean in terms of feng shui, you can only attempt to fix or correct flaws once you determine what it is. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Oliv, Oliv Sullivan wrote: Question: If someone's house number is, as an example, 90 and their Kua number is 1, is there any benefit to penciling in a 1 to make the house number appear as if it is 190 or 901 (which would add up to a 1) even though it is really not? However, in your mailing address it will still be written as 90 right? So it is not going to really help instead it may make your postman frustrating to locate your home. As mentioned in many other post, auspicious number is really subjective and different people have different preference. I can tell you some people dislike 4, but there are others who will love it. The luck of a home does not come from the unit number as much as from the home and external feng shui itself. Thus, number of a home has least overall impact compared to other factors. Dear Steve, Steve Jhun wrote: I'm a first timer on the theories of Feng Shui and I really enjoy this site. I'm planning to purchase a home. Based on the 8 house chart, I'm a SE person, and the true front door faces NE. However, I recall reading somewhere that if I primarily use the garage door entrance to the home, I should be using that as the Front Door. Firstly, glad that you enjoyed the website. For the facing direction of the house, you need to first check if your home is an apartment or landed property. We have laid down some new guidelines so that users will not be so confused about the facing direction anymore:- URL: http://www.geomancy.net/resources/art/art-cecilcompass.htm 1. Landed Property - Take facing direction from the frontage of the house usually the living room or main door you enter. 2. Apartments (2nd-7th level) - Take main door direction of door. 3. Apartments (8th level and up) - Take the living room / balcony direction. This should minimise the confusions that most users have. In in doubt, you can attach a layout to help you check. Steve Jhun wrote: From the center of the home, I can not see the door that connects the garage to the home. One thing to note is that the garage door to the house upon entering the home is facing SW. Would I consider the home a SW or NE facing home? Either way, NE (Death Line) or SW (Spook) isn't that a bad sign and I should not purchase the home? Since you mentioned you have a garage, then your house should be considered the option 1 landed property. Then you need to determine which is the front of the house. Take the facing direction based on the frontage of the house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We have a variety of choices -- however, I've been reading that 2's, 6's. 8's and 9's are auspicious. Several numbers that we're considering are: 208; 116; 278; 268 and 186. Generally, for auspicious numbers, there are many many ways to look at it. Finding numbers that contain the numbers you mentioned are generally good.Particularlly, 6 in hokkien prounciation which means luck. 8 is Fa in cantonses prounication which is prosper. 9 is for like jiu or longevity. Thus, anynumber which has these numbers tend to be more auspicious. Most of the time people try to link the numbers together to get the meaning (if possible), or as long as there is the 8 or 6 these are already considered good like 86 - prosper and luck or 68 luck and prosper. Most will definately like 88 (fa and fa) is like Prosper and Prosper. 4 to chinese especially cantonese is die. But to some western like the lucky 4 leave clover is good. So really there is many ways to look at auspicious or inauspicious number. There is also another way is use your Kua number ie 9, then you add up the number 208 = 2 + 0 +8 = 10 = 1+0 = 1 so if this is the same as your Kua number it is auspicious for you. So there is really thousand and one ways to look at auspicious numbers. It is really ultimately up to you which is better for you. As long as you like the number, it really does not matter too much how you interpret the meaning. It is really a matter of personal preference. Hope that helps. Dear Hoa Luong, Hoa Luong wrote: According to the house hunting report for P8, both E1 and W2/3 have double 8s at the front door facing, but E1 is better suited for me than W2/3 house. This tells me that from a front door facing fengshui standpoint, the bazi element is more important than the 8-house suitability. Am I correct? Actually, flying star analysis of the main door will be most important in the house hunting, followed by Ba Zi, than followed by Eight House. Reason being is that Eight House is based on YEAR of birth, whereas ba zi uses even time of birth to analyse. Often, it is ideal to get a direction which both Eight House and Ba Zi element are favourable. For cases such as yourself, it means that your Death sector as defined by Eight House isn't that bad as the ba zi element helps to offset some of the influence. Whereas, your excellent direction isn't all that good because the ba zi element is not so favourable. The best direction is where both eight house and ba zi element are favourable. However, it is hard to get everything perfect. Where possible, we try to draw a line of which is more important. What are the other good directions? I am sure there will be an alternative that might not be the best but without the facing Death direction. Like mentioned try to find a balance, if not possible, then like you mentioned, of the main door falls in a different sector even though the house faces East, then this is also a consderation. The House Hunting analysis tries to analyse all possible combinations. Once you know the various analysis, you can then take advantage of the finding the best possible homes. Remember, no home is 100% perfect, you have to give and take some of the flaws that isn't too bad. Dear Roeland, Roeland de Looff wrote: Suppose someone is weak wood and sitting ina sector in which the woodstars 3 or 4 are prominent. This is because a sector has several influence at work, even though there is a star 3/4 which are wood element. That person might benefit a little from it, but not really a great deal. Given that the flying star sector has 20year/year/month/day stars changing all the time, as such even ifa presence of star 3/4 is there, it isn't enough to be considered a Wood element presence. Macro analysis is such as countries located in North, or North part of the country, or direction of travel North wards. For such analysis, ba zi element and direction would be better. Micro analysis is more like facing of a home, or sector of bedroom or sleeping position etc. For such analysis, eight house direction and suitability would be better. Hope that helps.
