  1. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: 1) Iunderstand that I amastrong water element. How do I go about reducing this element and increasing other elements which I am weak at? In what ways? Should I avoid going forany other water related activities such as swimming? You should go by the Strong Water element characteristics. As a Strong Water means you generally have too much Metal and Water which makes you overly strong as such Metal and Water becomes your unfavourable element. While Wood which exhaust your excess Water and Earth which destroy your Wood help to control you excess Water which makes you Strong. These element becomes your favourable element. In addition, your wealth is what you destroy which is Fire element. So Wood, Fire and Earth generally becomes your favourable element. So the more of such elements in your life will be good for you. Since Five elements can be related your home (direction), colours (bedroom decor, clothing, car etc), career (ie Sales - Fire, Accounts - Metal etc), people around you etc. So the more areas in your life which belongs to your favourable element, the better luck you will have. Of course, that doesn't mean that you should avoid the unfavourable element totally. You will still need to have some of each element. The ideal goal is to have 20% of each of the five element to be truly in balance. But this is difficult to achieve, so you only try to get more of your favourable elements to attempt to balance it out. Anonymous wrote: 2) In terms of career, I understand that I should choose either afire element (for wealth) andearth element (for Power& Authority), can you let me know if Office/Admin Manager,IT/Telecom and government/stepboard industry belongs to these two elements? Office/Admin Manager is more towards Wood element IT/Telecome is more towards Water element. Govenment/stepboard is hard to classify as there are many departments. So depends on what exactly will you be doing. Anonymous wrote: 3) Under my suitable/favourable career, you had listed some job which are considered beneficial to me, in what ways are they beneficial to me? Suitable Favourable career, simply means the element which is directly suitable for you. Some people do not have the luxuary to take on Career with Wealth or Career with Power Authority because they are generally weak natured person (ie weak water person). In such cases the suitable career is element which favours them generally. ie in your case a Strong Water the suitable career is based on Wood element career. That is why it is suitable, because it enhances your Wood element. Anonymous wrote: 4) Under my balance of elements, I am totally confused. I am strongest in wood and 0% in earth and metal which I understand is totally unacceptable, so what should I do the increase/reduce the elements? It seems to be totally opposite to my favourable/unfavourable elements? I am currently working in Finance dept, which I believe can help me increase my metal element but then I understood my most unfavourable element ismetal and is my wrong career choice. As I mentioned to you earlier, the best way to balance yourself is to have 20% of each element. However, this is very very difficult to apply or calculate because how to tell how much exactly do you have in a point in your life. In terms of your ba zi (your given luck), this can be calculated easily. But in real world, how to I tell you how mucha brown colour (Wood) car will be in terms of your percentage of Wood element influence in your life. Thus, you make of this information to tell you how much of a particular element you have. Since 20% is the ideal, if you have too little, say 5%, then having a little more of this element will be eventually beneficial for you. If you have 40%, then it is too much, so having less will be beneficial. So say your Strong Water is made up of 30% Metal and 10% Water, it means you are Strong because you have more Metal than Water. As such Metal should be an element you should avoid getting too much of. Say if you have 5% Wood, 20% Fire, 40% Earth, then it means among your favourable element, you would prefer more Wood, followed by Fire, and least would be Earth. This is how you make use of this portion of the five element to fine tune how much of each element you should have. Hope that helps. 2. Dear Anon, I'm so sorry for your loss. Please accept my sincere condolences. Anonymous wrote: I have been in a deep depression since the death of my mother; we were great friendsI attended to all her needs. My grief and depression have prevented me from going on with my life. It is definately hard to lose a love one and frankly only time can heal your wound. The closer you are to the person, the longer it will take to get over it. The only thing you can do now is try to be in company with your other relatives or friends. Talking about it will help you slowly get over or accept the fact. Yes, probably inititally you will cry or feel sad about it, let it all out. Once you do, you will find at a point, you won't feel like crying any more because you have already cried enough. This is a form of healing process itself. In terms of like religion (ie christian). Try to think that your mother has gone to a better place, no more suffering etc. All these will help you get over the loss. Probably take some time off maybe go on a holiday with your other love ones etc. Just to get away from things/places that might remind you about your mother. Give yourself sometime to get over the issue. As mentioned, it will not be easy but at least a change in environment, will take your mind off the issue. If necessary seek a professonal help tomaybe give you some medicine to help you cope with the depression. However, the best cure is to spend timeother family members, go out etc. Hope that helps. 3. Hi Joel, Joel Tee wrote: so i assume that putting a windchime ,aquarium and a crystal here will form a good combination? whats do u think. thanks very much! Aquarium should be ok with th eright number of fish and/or colour choice of fishes it will already be able to contain Metal. Alternatively, put in like 6/8 coins into the aquarium which represent metal and luck also possible. The best kind of aquarium is one which contain a little of each five element. As for windchime, I would avoid it. As this sometimes if placed wrongly can be irritating and attract unwanted spirits.Crystals should be fine. Hope that helps. 4. Dear Anon, It is of course nice to have everything perfect. However, in reality, this isn't always possible. There will bound to be some imperfections in pre designed homesunless you are rich enough to construct your own perfect home. Anonymous wrote: i am moving into a very nice house in a nice neighborhood with nice people, but my bedroom is in my disaster position. i cannot move my bedroom, so what steps can i take to make my bedroom not so bad? In Feng Shui, you should always remember, that there are many different concepts each has a specific purpose. In your case, say the suitability of the room isn't ideal.Make sure that at least say the house is suitable to you, and/or at least the colour scheme of the bedroom is of a favourable element. In addition, you should also attempt to fix up other major leaks in your home. This way, you have something else which is suitable to you to offset the unsuitable flaw. Often, a single feng shui fault alone (ie say a toilet in the center of the house), the bedroom does not fit you, or colour is unsuitable. Each individual flaw on its own does not cause a major catastrophy. But when many many leaks comes together, that is where you get trouble. Which is why I keep stressing that, it is more important to correct whatever flaw that is correctable, rather then to dull on the problems you cannot fix. In cases for suitability, the only way to ensure you do not ever encounter such a issue, is to make sure that you check the home for that suitability or external shapes and form flaws before you actually buy it. Suitability and external shapes and form cannot be fixed unlike other flaws such as flying star or colour schemes etc. So these are important considerations when you first get the home. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  5. Dear Ann, Ann H. Huynh wrote: I understand that when looking for a piece of land to build a house on, the frontage of the lot needs to be narrower than the back/rear. Is there any truth to this? Basically, the one to be most concern is to have a frontage or opening which is larger than the back/rear. This is because it is like you have a head that is too large for your body. Imagine if you have a head larger than your body, it will be a burden to your body in terms of being able to balance yourself properly when walking. Thus, it is more ideal if you have a frontage that is narrower than the back. Of course, each plot of land is unqiue so you have to see each plot to be able to comment if it is good or bad in relation to the surrounding environment. Quote: If so, are there anyfengshui fixes? Generally, the only other fixes is to ensure that the house is squarish and big enough to cover the plot without any further missing corners etc to add to the problem. Andto fix up other feng shui leask in the home. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  6. Dear Cindy, CindyLu Who wrote: Hello, I have moved into a new home, it's Period 7 house (S2) and have brought many plants with me. My living room areas are the S & SW, kitchen is N & NW. I can't seem to place them in an appropriate place as I do not want to destroy the 8WS & 8 MS yet wouldn't wood neutralize the 2 star? Generally, plants are always good in terms of feng shui. Most of the time most plants if any should be placed in the garden or balcony area. This is practical for it makes it easy to maintain and well as create a very nice garden environment for the balcony area which is extremely pleasing to look when you look from the living room area. Some plants within the home is also acceptable especially in living room, study room, corridor, kitchen, yard area. Plants in bedroom area for example won't be advisable as plants will also fight for oxygen at night. So it is never advisable to place plants in the bedroom. I think you don't have to worry about plants being considered as destroying Earth. If you look at plants which is wood by default. Also contains Water elementand Earth element. So it is not all wood element element if you look at it from this point inview. Frankly, this itself won't create a big problem of addingsay too much wood which destroy Earth element.Notat least when you consideronly one or two plants. But if you intendto fill the room with lots of plants, than that will be different story. One or two plants will not create an issue. Let's look at it in another way, it would probably be even more worrysome if you think about most wooden furniture which represents wood. Won'tthat have more concern than plants? Sometimes we look at it from the point of view of colours (which is best way to represent element influence in the room),as well as quantity. Does the plant for example cover more than 33.3% of the room? If not then it will not create any impact to thebalance of harmony within the sector. Hope that helps. Dreams

Dear Sophia, Sophia Chia wrote: Are dreams a part of feng shui. Human mind are so complex that no one is still able to comprehend how dreams work. However, I would classify dreams which appear to come true as personal intuition or 6th sense at work. Many a times, whensomething bad is about to happen to people (especially those closest to us), we somehow have some form of intuition which will give us advance warning. Most of the time it is dreams or sometimes it is like your eye twiching constantly. Since everyone has some form of person intuition or 6th sense (only how weak or strong for some person). Often even in Feng Shui, when we often say that the best way to tell if a home is good or not is just to bring your family members to view it. Each person will have some like of intuition which allow you to know whether this home feels comfortable to you or not. But I would consider it closer related to Personal Intuition rather than Feng Shui. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  8. Dear Rachel, Rachel Rachel wrote: But Idon't really understand why youwould also quote other careers such ascustomer service, employee relations and human resources, games andsports,as Earth careers.Such careers don't reallyappear to be dealing with land or soil...they seem to be more with dealing with people. Why do youconsiderthemas Earth-related careers? Customer Service, Employee Relations and Human Resources deals with common people (or like grassroot people level) in the world. So in order to serve them, a person will have to listen to their feedback. This is similiar to like having to put your ear on the ground (earth) in order to listen to these people. So this why we classify them as Earth related careers/element. Games and Sports are often refered to like games such as Soccer / Football / Hockey / Basketball etc. All such games and sports are usually played on the ground as such again considered Earth related elements. Sometimes you have to understand concept behind a career description to be able to associate the right element to each career. Of course, how you associate it will ultimately determine what kind of element you will classify the element. Hope that helps. 9. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: I understand that it is best to have your bed behind a solid wall. But there is a beam on top of my bed and I understand that it is not good to sleep under a beam. I intend to fill up the void under the beam by creating a false wall using particle board and place my bed there. As the wall is a false wall and hence not 'solid', does it means not good as my bed does not have a real solid wall behind it? This isn't not major problem. Just like if you use a false ceiling to cover the beams, this also create an empty ceiling, but it is the best way of covering beams. What you don't see will no longer create a problem. Usually, what we mean by a bed should be anchored to a wall is that a bed should not be floating in the center of the room without been placed closed to a wall. A false wall is still considered a wall. So no issue here. Anonymous wrote: My bedroom toliet door also faces directly across my bed, therefore my sink and mirroralso faces directly across my bed when i open the bathroom door. Please advise if it is ok by keeping the bathroom door closed. Of course, ideally, if possible you should place the bed such that it can avoid the toilet door. However, in today's environment, most master bedroom will have a door facing the bed due to space constrains in the design of the house. One of the common thing to do is to have a bed stand and lamp which symbollise a partition between the door and bed. This will be good enough to act as a partition to the bed. So as long as you keep the toilet door close when not in use, this should further reduce any impact of the toilet to the people staying in the room. Furthermore, a home toilet no matter how dirty can't be as dirty as a public toilet. So shouldn't be a major issue for most people. Hope that helps. 10. Dear Chia Doreen, Chia Doreen wrote: Recently I bought a resale flat and its master bedroom has a custom made dressing table with big mirror. I cannot remove this mirror. It's about 45 degrees facingfrom the side of the headboard (above headboard are windows). Since you cannot remove the mirror, then there is very little options that can be suggested even if the mirror is inauspicious. However, based on your diagram. I think it should still be ok. At least it is not located where there is a window directly opposite the mirror which would be worst. The other good thing I can see is at least by having the custom-made dressing table at a 45 degree angle, it at least does not create any major Sha Qi (poison arrow) from the corner of the dressing table. So I would say it should be ok. As long as you feel comfortable with a mirror, then it should not be a major issue. Remember, in Feng Shui, you are bound to have some areas in your home which is so call feng shui unfriendly. As long as you keep all other major issues corrected, then a few of the mirror placements shouldn't be a major concern. Hope that helps. 11. Hi Rachel, Rachel Hing wrote: My kuano. 5. I'm staying in a house for 4 years which facing SE and my bedroom located E. However, i do not feel anything negative so far. Can you explain this? pls advise. Thank you. If based on a female Gua 5, that means SE - Spook, while E- disaster. House facing Spook/Irritation isn't that bad, in fact a lot of people have such a facing direction. This is a minor issue. As for the bedroom in your disaster area, yes this isn't the most ideal, but not as bad as having the main door in Disaster of Death sector. One must remember that Feng Shui has many Tools, each tool is for a specific analysis. So far what you are looking from is point of suitability. This is just to tell you whether a house is suitable to you or not or on a smaller scale whether a room is suitable to you or not. Also, Eight House accuracy is only based on YEAR of birth, so it has it's limitations. You have to look at other areas to have a complete picture. ie a person's ba zi what element are you. Say you are a weak fire person for example would favour East (Wood) direction more. So even if your sector is Disaster for example, but because the element in that direction is good, it helps offset the unsuitability based on the Eight House. Another issue that must be assessed is also house feng shui itself. This has to do with the external Shapes and Form of the location. Often a good house with good external shapes and form, will reign supreme even if the house isn't that suitable. The Feng Shui of the house itself is another consideration that you need to consider. Only when you put together all these analysis, can one give you an assessment of how is your luck. Remember, that failing one aspect of feng shui does not mean you fail entirely. Eight House is only one portion of a consideration. You also have to consider other more important factor especially the feng shui of the house, ba zi luck etc. So in your case, even if you stay in a Disaster bedroom sector, but there are other areas in your favour, it will offset this issue. Usually people who face problems, have lots of concepts pointing to being very inauspicious. Only then do you get the full impact of the disaster influence. 12. Hi Anon, Original Quote: When you said the main door faces the compass direction is regarded as the orientation of the house. What if the actual main door is facing S but wechange the door facing SW, do we call this houes faces SW as the main doornow faces SW? Thanks. Regards, Rachel In your original e-mail, your question is to ask whether if you change your door facing of the house does it change the house from a South to a South-West. My reply is to tell you ifyour house is a landed property (which I presume it is), then the tilting of thedoor will not change the house to a South-West facing house. This is because for a laneded property you take the facing of the entire house. Anonymous wrote: Would appreciate your advise on how to improve my house fengshui. As i've purchased the house and i can't just leave it like that. I am presuming the house does not fit you based on the eight house? If so, and the house is considered your Spook / Irritation, then it shoudn't be that bad. However, it is Death/ Disaster then of course in the long run you will only get a quantum leap in feng shui if you move to a more suitable house. The only other thing you can do is like what we have always been advising, find out what are the leaks you have in the home and correct/fix them. An leaks in the home will only add more wealth leak. After you fixed up the leaks, then consider where you can enhance your wealth sectors to get additional luck improvement from the house itself. In addition, you should find out what elements you belong to and adjust like the colour scheme of the house or enhance your own personal ba zi. Remember that Feng Shui should be looked at in a wholistic manner. Failing one aspect does not mean that you have bad feng shui. You can still obtain luck from other areas. Only when many feng shui concepts tell you that there are bad influence should you avoid or completely move out to a more suitable house. There is no perfect home unless you construct your own home from scratch. Most houses will have some flaws here and there. The point is to minimise all flaws so that you can get the maximum luck out of the house. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  13. Hi Angie, Anonymous wrote: Can I place a Fish Tank infront of the house main door? And it is theside of the fish tank facingthe main door. I believe that there is definately no issue in how you place your fish tank as long as the corners of the fish tankdoes not create a poison arrow or sha qi against other key areas in your home. As to whether it is auspicious to place it at your main door area of the home, then you will need to check with like the flying star analysis of your home to see if the stars present are suitable for having a fish tank. Such as if there is a water star 8, then yes most probably it will be an auspicious wealth sector. However, if it is a auspicious star 9 (fire element), then a water feature may not be advisable. 14. Dear David, Generally, that info is correct. Cow which is more or less related to Ox is Earth, while Rat is Water. Quote: I was told tat Cow represent the element Earth and Rat represent the element Water, is this true ? Where could I get all the representation of all animals chart ?Whatabout Rabbit and Dog ? These are based on Chinese Astrology Signs or the Earthly Branch based on the Ba Zi. Each animal sign has a basic default element. Dragon - Earth Ox - Earth Pig - Water Rabbit - Wood Monkey - Metal Dog - Earth Snake - Fire Goat - Earth Horse - Fire Tiger - Wood Rooster - Metal Rat - Water Quote: If a person need more "earth" to enhance his luck, does wearing a "Cow Pendant" helps? This portion is not really true. The problem with Feng Shui (especially the Human Luck aspect) now a days is that it is very commercialised. So many people uses things like these item will improve you luck in order to get you to buy them. True Feng Shui is all about creating harmony by selecting the best and most suitable home, placement of furniture, colour scheme etc. It has nothing to do with Feng Shui Products or Items. Such items are more like ornament or decoration. If you find it nice and like to wear it, by all means go ahead. Whatever makes you feel good will ultimately make you feel good and thus improve your luck. However, these items/products does not come with any guarentee that tells you that if you buy this item and wear it, you will get $20,000 in return. Hope that helps. Replying to a Post We have noticed that the existing reply feature which works for the older forum interface, is sometimes causing previous replies to be wrap when less than 40 characters and a " Quote: You should noticed this new kind of Quote which can be added by clicking on "Add Quote Box". Or simply selecting the portion of the quote from the Original Message display box to your posting box. Or add [ quote ]to the text you wish to quote[ /quote ] E-mail posted messages will see normal Quote: text being shown without the box. 2. Original Message to make it easy for Replying You should find this box located at the post screen. This shows you the original message that you are planning to reply. You can drag sections of text to add to your post as each paragraph is separated for you to pick and choose the correct section to reply to. This should make it easier for you to select quotes and easily refer to the original post for replying. In addition, if your original post contains HTML tables, you will now be able to cut and past these as part of the reply for the post. In the previous quote system, such formatting would have been lost as the content was converted to plain text only. 3. 16. Hi Theresa, Ideally, it is best you get a new bed for the new bedroom, rather than move your old bed. However, you can still move your old bedbut you must not be present during when the bed is being moved out of your existing home as well as move into the new home. As long as you are not there in the move, then it is fine to make of the bed in another bedroom. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  17. Hi Cheryl, Unfortunately, if you cannot make use of that main door, then no Qi can flow in and out of that main door. Since in Feng Shui it is all about Qi Flow, if you Qi is not able to flow through that door, then you cannot benefit from the house. By using the other entrance, the Qi of the house will then be considered based on that entrance. There isn't any cure or enhancement you can do to make the Qi come from the main door which is stuck. The only thing you can do is ensure that other flaws in the home are corrected to offset this influence. Hope that helps. 19. Hi Theresa, Yes, as far as possible, try to move in only when everything is done. As to whether you should move in on the same day or a different day. This depends on whether all the move in is done or not. If everything is moved in properly, then should be no issue to move in later in on the same day. Probably it would be better tochoose another day that is auspicious for you to move in. This way, you move in when all shifting or arrangment is completed. Hope that helps. 22. Hi Sophia, Frankly, the way the house number is arranged won't really make your house more auspicious or less auspicious. The luck of a house comes from the surrounding as well as the internal arrangement of the house. Luck does not come from the way the unit number is arranged. In fact, if you do that like what you suggest, it will only make people harder to find your unit. I think it is absolutely fine to just have the unit number list as #01-23. Maybe if you really want, make it look more impressive like the unit number in gold with nice wooden backing. That would probably be more impressive and practical. Anyway, like mentioned this is the least luck affecting/influencing issue. So as long as you like the way the unit number is displayed, that should be good enough. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  23. Hi Robin, Sorry, but as we have been focused on Feng Shui, we didn't really keep track of any Face Reading resources to recommend to you. 24. Hi Julia, Actually, the only reason why people say TV isn't good for bedroom is because TV screen looks reflective. As such it is always related to like having a mirror effect. So the idea behind this is because it is said that when we sleep, our spirit leaves our body. Then when it sees a reflection of itself it will get shock. So that is why it is considered inauspicious. However, what if you are a person who, sees a mirror, comb your hair to make yourself look nice before leaving. So this is all a matter of tolerance. Some people like to look at themselves in a mirror, others don't. But it does not mean that it is at all bad but a matter of tolerance. Frankly, we are on the earth for such a short period of time. Do you really want to deprive yourself of TV entertainment just because it is not good to place a TV in the bedroom? So frankly, it does not really matter. Furthermore, in today's TV technology, especially if you get flat screen LCD, you can hardly see any reflection on the TV. So again, this becomes a non-issue. Hope that helps.
