  1. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: whenselecting an auspicious date for wedding, will it make a differenceif weuse only the chinese horoscope (sheng xiao) of the wedding couple andtheir parents? i.e. the date & time of birth of the wedding couple are not considered. Does it mean that a date that's auspicious forparticularchinese horoscopes will be auspicious for whoever persons with those same horoscopes? Yes, if you just use horoscope then you will be defined as Horse, Pig etc. Given that all person born in the same year will be the sameanimal sign, thus the animal signs which you clash with will be the same for all person born in the year. That is why we prefer to use ba zi. Ba Zi breaks down each animal sign further into weak/strong wood Horse for example. Thus, providing a more accurate analysis. Ba Zican clash between ba zi day/month/year pillar with the date. This gives you a more accurate analysis. As even the year isn't auspicious, you will noticed that there will be less auspicious date available within that year. Thus, we do not just use the horoscope to analyse whether a date is good or not. At most, this is applied for hour analysis, as there isn't much hour to choose from if you go to detail in the hourly analyiss. Anonymous wrote: Also, is there a need to consider the chinese horoscope of the wedding couple's siblings as well? Detailed analysis is only needed between the bride and groom. As with that analysis alone, you will find that there are already very few dates which will be suitable to both and does not clash under the tong shu event. The only thing that we usually check for is for the parents and parent-in-laws especially to see how to boost the luck for each of the family members. You can check your siblings if you wish to, but often the most important is the parents and parent-in-laws. Hope that helps. 2. Dear Serina, Quote: Thanks again for your advises. In the six months since I bought my new-blue car, it was once broken-into by a thief, twice being damaged in the carpark and one recent collision with another car. I questioned about the colour of the car after reading your "Free Personal Ba Zi" which stated that Blue isone of the unfavourable element for a weak Metal. Generally, when luck isn't favouring you espeically from a few different areas (ie your ba zi luck, house luck etc). Such issues will occur. This is what we call compounded effect of the bad or unfavourable luck. As such, it means that you need to enhance as much of other areas in order to balance up the influence. Serina Kan wrote: Can I wear Silver jewelleries to strengthen my Metal element? Yes, silver jewelry is a form of Metal, so it will make your weak Metal stronger. However, probably you might benefit more from Earth element as Earth produces Metal thus making it stronger. Please make use of this useful resources about five element and relationships. The more areas in your life (ie your home, your colours, your career) being favourable will improve your luck. URL: http://talk.geomancy.net Hope that helps. 3. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: My son belongs to weak water. According to his report, the suitable house facing directions are North/Northwest/West. However, North is one of the bad directions, i.e. Death. There are two concepts which deals with good/bad directions. 1. Eight House - Where it uses your year of birth, to determined the 4 good and 4 bad directions according to the Prosperity, Excellent, Health, Longevity, Spook, Irritation, Disaster & Deatth direction. Though, this is just based on year of birth accuracy, we still use it to check on the two worst direction ie Death or Diaster. Of which, these are two directions that you should avoid most among the 4 bad directions. The best uses is to check for micro application such as house facing, bestbedroom direction, sleeping / sleeping direction etc. 2. Ba Zi - Where it uses your entire date of birth (ie day, month, year & hour of birth), and breaks down to the five element (ie weak or strong water. Each direction also has an element associated (ie North - Water element etc). This is used more in terms of macro level application, ie direction of travel, best location within the country to stay etc. It can also be used as a house facing direction, but often the eight house suitability especially death or disaster will still be equally important. 3. Our bazi uses both information so that users can be more careful that, not all directions suitable to ba zi, or good for eight house means that direction is the best. The best direction is one where both eight house and ba zi are favourable. 4. What it means for your son is that even though your son is weak water person, and thus water element is one of the favourable element so North direction is favourable because North is Water element. However, because it is Death direction based on the Eight House, this will cancel some of the good impact of the Death direction for the auspicious ba zi direction. On the other hand, it will also mean thatthe Death direction is not as bad because the ba zi element is suitable. So what it means that if your son was to choose a home, he sould avoid chooing North as the facing direction, however, he can choose a location North of the country to reside in. Or still auspicious for him to travel North wards for example So basically that is why, you get the conflicting report. However, even though eight house isn't as accurate by using Year of birth, it still has it's benefit as such both analysis are useful when you balance up the advantages and disadvantages of the two concepts. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  4. Dear Anon, Anonymous wrote: We put our house up on the market for sell yesterday and I am very worry that we won't be able to sell itfora reasonable asking price and / or nobody wants to put an offer on the house. The house is in Canada (Toronto) the front door is on the SouthEast sitting on North the house number is 48, my dob is May 4, 1968 and hubby's dob is Mach 1, 1962 all on Lunnar calendar. We wanted to know if youwould tell if we are able to sell the house quickly or by the end of July for a reasonable price. Frankly, there is truly very little thing that you can do to improve a sell of a home based on feng shui. I mean, what you can do is ensure that you wear more favourable colours to enhance the luck when you meet the potential buyer, or choose a good dateetc. Maybe, if the home has good feng shui advantage, youcan also point it out. Otherwise, it is better that you focus on more practical aspects, ie keep the house neat and tidy; give the house a fresh coat of paint; list out the advantages of the homes ie ease of transport, quiet/serene environment, convient location etc; Advertise enough to get people's attention by your real estate agent; Last but not least the price will ultimately be the deciding factor. There is really nothing else that can help you on this at least not from Feng Shui point of view. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  5. Dear Cheryl, cheryl ludwig wrote: I am a weak wood, from what I can determine. I work at a tree nursery (we grow and sell big trees), with about 600 acres of trees. Being a weak wood, does this strengthen me or make things worse? As a weak Wood person, Water and Wood elements are generally favourable to weak wood person. Water produces weak Wood thus it is usally more effective under the five element productive cycle. Wood will add more Wood to weak Wood person, thus strengthening it. As such will also be effective, just not as effective as Water element. However, ultimately, in order to determine which is effective, you should check out the proper precentage of each element. Only then can you know which element you truly lack and try to have more of that as opposed to the other element. But regardless of that five element percentage, a weak wood likes water and woodas they make weak wood stronger. So based on that, if you work in a tree nursery, it would seem that it is wood element career as such beneficial for you. Quote: My PASSION is art - I am a painter and a sculptor of stone and would love to own a store/gallery one day. Thank you in advance As for your love for art. Art is general considered Water element. So it is also favourable for you. Under the productive cycle, this is slightly better than wood element. Hope that helps. 6. Dear Roeland, Glad that you are enjoying the website. Roeland de Looff wrote: In different posts you say that you do not like all the fuzz that is made about the yearly stars since this isbased on the base star only. For example if the yearly 5goes to a sector, that does notgive a lot of information becausewho knows there may be auspiciousyearly water or yearly mountain stars in that sector for a particular house also. Flying Star of a sector compose of Base Star, Water and Mountain Star, followed by Yearly, Monthly Stars. The overall influence of a sector comes from the Base Star, Water and Mountain Star. The yearly star is only there to stay for that current year. So priority goes to fixing the sector that has the greatest overall influence, followedby the influence that additional fine tuning by the yearly and monthly stars. If you do it that way, it would be much easier and more beneficial. Remember yearly star only affects that current year, so it will go away once the year pass. So if you are too focused on just fixing up the yearly cure, then once the year past, you have the worry about it again. Roeland de Looff wrote: Does that main that you propose to add the yearly water and mountain stars (which of course are dependent upon the facing direction of a certain building). Does this give a more complete picture thanthe yearly base stars only? Yes, whenever you review a sector, you have to look at it with all influence. ie in our latest paidflying star report, we actually chart out a flying star as follows:- North-West (Metal) 9 5 8 Year 2005 5 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun 2 1 9 8 (7) 6 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 5 4 3 2 1 8 North (Water) 4 9 (Main Door) 4 Year 2005 9 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun 6 5 4 3 (2) 1 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 9 8 7 6 5 3 North-East (Earth) 2 7 6 Year 2005 7 Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun 4 3 2 1 (9) 8 Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec 7 6 5 4 3 1 This gives you a greater ideal which year of example luck is good or bad. It also give you a clear idea how the luck changes each month for that year itself. So unless you put all the stars information, you will not be able to tell how a sector luck is. ie just looking at the year star without other stars how you know exactly what influence the sector has? Roeland de Looff wrote: Of course the analysis will become a bit complicated since in that case we will have to deal with 6 stars (yearly base star, yearly mountain star, yearly water star and the permanent base star, mountain star and water star) instead of 4. Suppose one adds the monthly base star, water star and mountain star to that and the picture becomes complicated indeed. That is why, I mentioned, fix up 20-year sector problems first, then worry about the yearly or monthly changes (last). These yearly and monthly are fine tuning to the sector. Like I mentioned, the easiest way is just focus on where the bad stars enter that sector. Those sector with the bad stars will thus require some additional fine tuning to ensure it does not impact the people staying in that sector for that year. Hope that helps. 7. Dear Gavin, Gavin Loe wrote: Can anyone please give some advise on the ideal location/facing for placing a fish tank with 8 gold & 1 black gold fish? Generally, the best position to place water feature is where there is an auspicious water star 8 present in that sector. You need to check out the flying star analysis of your home using our free reports on the website to determine which would be the best sector in the home which will benefit from a fish tank/water feature. If you do not look at these information, then usually the best place to place a fish tank or water feature is at the living room/balcony area which is often considered an open space. This is one area where it is advantages to trap wealth before it leaks out of the house. Water feature always works best in large open space area. As such, often the living room or balcony area are the best areas. Avoid placing fish tank in your bedroom etc. However, as mentioned, the best way to determine where to place a water feature for activating water wealth in your home, is through flying star analysis of the home. 8. Dear Oliv Sullivan, Oliv Sullivan wrote: I understand that it is not a good year to do "major" renovations in the NE this year. Does closing in a porch and turning it into a sunroom qualify as a renovation? It would involve installing windows, flooring, and moving an exterior door.Should a deck also be built in this same direction this year? The only direction that you really need to be concerned with is the Grand Duke direction West 270 degree. This sector should avoid any renovations if possible. Other analysis such as flying star etc impacts the house luck, so you need to check to see if it is advantages to renovate the house as it might change the house luck from an older period (ie period 7 to period 8). Any major renovation done to an older house will change the house luck period. And this may be good or bad depending on which direction is the house and whether which luck period will be better. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

  10. Hi Anon, Anonymous wrote: I attach a rough sketch of a house with the living room facing north. Is this still considered a sit-south and face-north house although the main door is not in the centre? I frankly, want to avoid using the term Sitting and Facing together as it can be very confusing if the term is not defined properly. When we talk about faicng west, we mean from center looking towards that direction (ie. west). Just like the compass direction. I will need you to check whether it is an apartment (2nd-7th level) or 8th levels and higher, first. Since there has been many many confusion about this direction, we have recently made some more clearer defination for all users to follow:- If the apartment is between 2nd-7th level, then you should consider the main door it Facing South. If the apartment is 8th level and up, then you should consider the living room Facing North. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

Dear Cilla, Cilla Tan wrote: I understand that we are not suppose to do any renovation at the West, North West and the East this year, does that mean we cannot dig the ground outside at the garden to plant any trees as well? Or can we do any other landscape, say like -just putting pebbles, stone, paving bricks on the conflicted ground??????? In terms of renovation, the only direction to be extra careful is the West due to the Grand Duke. East and North-Westare just Sickness and Misfortune stars. It does not mean you cannot have renovations done in that sector. Only the Grand Duke is what you want to avoid. Grand Duke dislikes noise ie hacking or drilling etc. As long as it does not involve any major renovation works it should be fine. Just to play safe, you can always offer some incense/offerings in that direction (West), and say like we are doing some renovation, apologise for disturbing you. Plus the offer some food to please the Tai Sui. Before you start work. Hope that helps. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research
  12. Dear Angela, Angela Le wrote: I was wonder how bad is it really to have a bathroom in the center of the house because most floor plans have bathrooms near the center of the home. Also, is it still bad to have the main entrance face a fire place even if the fireplace is at an angle. Basically, once you walk into the house you do see the fireplace, but just a side of it. The fireplace is actually at a corner. Finally, Is it bad for me if my excellent is NE and my husband is SW for us to have a house that indents in the front area. For example our front exterior is like a U shape. I have included a picture. If we get a house that faces NE or SW with that shape of the house, is it bad? Is the floor plan still okay for us because I don't think it is 100% perfect in feng shui, but it is one of the better plans. Unfortunately, there is no pre-built homes that are free from any feng shui flaws. What you need to do is to determine whether the flaw is major or minor and how it overally impacts the entire home. Having one major/minor flaw does not mean that home is condemned.Just like an exam. Failing one question out of 10 question does not mean that you fail the exam. So you need to consider the overall feng shui influence then assess it whether it is has overall impact over the home. Yes, though having a toilet located at the center of the home isn't that auspicious. It is a series of inauspicious influence that will finally impact the people staying in the house. ie. House not suitable, or house luck is bad, or ba zi luck period inauspicious. If a series of such issues are noted, then you will have inauspicious luck. As for the other question on fireplace. Didn't see a file attached so very hard to comment on whether it is an issue or not. Warmest Regards Robert Lee GEOMANCY.NET - Center for Applied Feng Shui Research

The cheaper or smaller compass will not be as accurate most of the time. So far we find that it is best to use a surveyor's compass, these compasses then to have anti-magnetic shielding to prevent any magnetic influence from affecting the final reading. Some homes or area have high metal structure will often affect the reading taken by normal compass. That is why if you get a ordinary or very small compass, the reading will not be as accurate when taken in an area which has additional magnetic influence affecting the reading. 15. Dear Anon, Robert Quote: Son - weak water - Wood house not too favourable as it weakens him. Anonymous wrote: Is it alright if my son's bedroom is in the SW sector of the house? Under the bazi and direction suitability, South-West is considered Earth direction which is wealth to a water person. If your son isStrong Water person, he will most definately benefit from it. However, since your son is a weak water, he will need more Metal and Water to strengthen his weak water before he can benefit from the wealth sector. Of course, you should check out whether the Eight House direction is suitable or not, as long as that is also not death or disaster. Should be acceptable. Hope that helps. 16. Dear Lily, Quote: May I check if our whole HDB block is being washed and painted by the Town Council, does that put our block into Period 8. The neighbouring blocks are of course painted as well ie. all the blocks (total 5 blks) in our area are painted. Painting alone isn't often enough to be classified as a major renovation. Major renovation is often classified by hacking of walls which change the internal structure of the house. Thus, your unit will retain the existing period. Hope that helps. 24. Dear Lily, Quote: May I ask what happens if WS8 and MS6 fell in the sector of half of the toilet and half of the dining room (divided by a solid wall). Can WS8 be activated in the dining room? The other half of the dining room is MS2, WS3 and B7. As long as a resonable amount of sector influence cover the dining room, it is still possible to activate the stars in the sector. For Water Star however, you also need to make sure there is clear space available, because that is the requirement. A dining room may not be as effective a location compared to living room/balcony. With the open space consideration, you will not be able to enjoy the water star in this sector of the house. So you might want to focus on other areas which you can enhance or correct.
