"At first i could hardly believe that Feng Shui really works. but then i continued to study and research and tried some advice posted on several websites to find out if it is true or not. i got so crazy about it i followed all advice i read wherever i encounter them...and waited for results. that time the only missing part in my life was romance. everything else was doing fine. but no matter how many guys i've met all of them on above average standard, it just didn't seem to work. until i've read that i can enhance my romance luck by having my bed against the East wall (Shapes and Forms), where i can see a full view of the door. i did that right that moment. after a month, i've met this guy and since then, it's like a fairytale come true!!! i waited 9 months before i share this experience because i wanted to make sure feng shui really works. right now, i assure you, it really works and things are still getting better. thanks to feng shui experts and masters like Cecil and Robert who tirelessly share their knowledge for us to have a good life!" Dear Rachel, This is a common practise. Such a painting is often placed at this location. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Diana, In my opinion, there is no evidence or detailed studies done on the situation faced by you. Although, it is not good to have such a hole especially if it collects stagnant water (for a few days). As mentioned, frankly, there is not much documented cases of bad feng shui relating to your situation. If one's current situation is not that good and in the immediate future, you do not intend to build a pool, it is best to see if it can be leveled. This is part of the process of trying to fix `leaks' if you have already done all you can within the home premises. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, It is best to find out where is the frontage of your house, first. In some homes, although the main door can be at one side of the house; but in some instances, you may have the `back' of the house as your `frontage'. For example, there are homes facing the sea. In such a situation; one may have a road leading to the main door. But, all the view is at the `back' or frontage of the house. If one's home is of this situation, then, there is no issue. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, I hope I get your question correct. If not, please respond again. It is not so much of where the bedroom door is facing. But rather, where is the bedroom located. For example, at the centrepoint of the house, determine where the bedroom is located. If the bedroom is at East sector, then the bedroom is located there. Sometimes, a bedroom can be located between two sectors e.g. East and South-East i.e. the bedroom may not be exactly at the East. Once you know the compass direction of the bedroom, this is a starting point. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, Although you cannot control the road construction, since south does have so many sickness numbers, it is best to quickly neutralise this. With multiple #2's, cure it with 6 coins at the South side. Optional: You can also place the 6 coins into a glass bottle and add two spoonfuls of salt to plain water. Stir it before placing the 6 coins into the bottle with a open top. This can be placed on South side. (make sure that preferably, this is the window area). Else, just hang 6 coins. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Anon, 1. In the application of Flying Star Feng Shui, it is always looking at a three variable combination i.e. #mountain star #water star #base star 2. Where, one can generally say that #base star can be roughly considered as the main element. 3. When we are looking at the Flying Star Feng Shui, these are the three variables taken into consideration when trying to balance a sector. 4. One should not introduce the BASIC chart i.e. North = water, South = fire, East = Wood etc.. In Flying Star Feng Shui, we have to cons ider this as just the BASIC chart and not the MAIN element chart. 5. We must note that the distinction is that we use e.g. the 20 Year Flying Star chart to analyse the birth chart of a specific house. Contrast this to the BASIC chart, where it has not been personalised to a home. 6. Another distinction is that `a birth chart of a house is simply that i.e. the characteristics of the birth chart of a house. It is distinct from a person's birth chart. When we fit a person or a married couple into the room, we look at their Ba Zi and try to harmonize room to the individual. But taking into consideration the birth chart of the house. For example, this person lacks a certain element. And, we check to see if we can introduce that `missing' element into the room. Once, we have neutralised that sector imbalance based on the birth chart of the house. 7. Another common `misunderstanding' is: Why does the Flying Star chart says that this is a good sector e.g. West (very auspicious). But, is my disaster sector. Here again, note the distinction. A birth chart of a house can differ from your best locations. There is really nothing wrong with this. We on this earth, has to fit into our environment, first. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, 1. Frankly, it is better to place your bed in a good Shapes and Forms position. 2. Some examples of favourable/unfavourable bed positions can be seen under this url:- http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-bedroom.htm 3. Many of us, do have `opposites'. And it is best that the person who has more auspicious influence sleep closer to that intangible force. While, the partner sleeps further away. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nathalie, In Feng Shui, there are two concepts:- 1. study facing a good direction. You can use the free Feng Shui report to look at it. However, caution is that it is always better to have the study table position based Good Shapes and Forms than (para 1 i.e. nice to have). For example, if the best direction is to place the study table next to the bedroom door; this may be distracting to your eldest son even if the direction is good! 2. Another traditional idea is that if it window of the bedroom open out and to the right (a distance away); there is a tall e.g. tower, this signifies, scholaristic achievement. Many FS practitioners encourage the placement of a small figurine of a pagoda (metal, glass or ceramic) on the right side of the study table. In my opinion, this does not mean that the child will pass all his exams with flying colours but rather, one day, it is hoped that he complete e.g. university. In some cases, we hear of children who even fail badly in a specific exam e.g. primary or secondary school. And because having tasted the bitterness, and thru good upbringing, he/she may eventually, excel ... I am not too sure about your layout plan with regards to the extend of missing corner and its relationship with the rest of the layout plan. In my opinion, you may try to place one there (trial and error Feng Shui). Warmest Regards, Cecil

Under Flying Star Feng Shui, and depending on Shapes and Forms, if a sector has been found to have metal elements e.g. double 7's: #7 represent metal element. Metal element with Water element (twin combination) can enhance the Qi at that specific sector. However, hopefully, this sector can be found at the frontage e.g. living room area (or balcony). Metal with Water is a good combination....

Dear Anon, In my opinion, your cornice do not pose poison arrow as it is usually made of gpysum board. The height from the ceiling to the ground is quite a distance away. They are multiple (3) and long as opposed to a pointed edge. I personally feel that there is no issue in the type of cornice mentioned. Although the preference is for a simpler design. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear All, In Hong Kong, Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation HQ building took a desperate attempt to place two cannons. Hong Kong Feng Shui practitioners spare no efforts to use `black' feng shui on others. Even in Singapore, some buildings were built on `black' Feng Shui e.g Suntec City. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Vertical placement of bamboo flutes to neutralise a concrete beam Another way of placing two bamboo flutes...please see illustration

Dear November, Based strictly on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is a much better idea to have the screen partition at location marked `A' instead of at present location. This is to make the living room and dining room into a more rectangular shaped layout. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear November, Please see attached illustration with the best location for activating a mountain star. For info, 1. a mountain star must not be activated at the front door. 2. a mountain star is ineffective if it is placed on a shelf next to a window. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Alan, Please see below:- It is good to know the purpose, strength and weakness of each concept. 1. Flying Star Feng Shui:- The purpose is to map out the birth chart of the house. And see if each sector is out of balance. If a specific sector is out of balanced and need a cure, than, a cure should be used to neutralised the bad stars at that sector. If any sectors that can be enhanced, then, enhancements can be made. Strickly speaking the Flying Star has `nothing' to do with Eight House. As you can see from the above, for example, if South has back sickness stars (bad sector under Flying Star) - a cure can be placed here. Therefore, a sector (accordig to birth chart) can be a bad sector under Flying Star. But it can be either good or bad sector under Eight House. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Guek Rian, Apologies, I am unable to open the attachment. Please see below:- Usually, `normal' layouts do not have a narrowing at the centre of the house. In many homes, it is always straight. As a narrowing under Shapes and Forms is like a compression at the centre location. And this can be a cause of Sha Qi. In addition, so many sliding doors at the centre, with or without opening them can disturb the qi flow between the front to the back of the house. The use of tinting is a double edged sword. Tinting at the wrong panels may further aggrivate the situation. And if it is an inauspicious location, it may bounce back twice the back luck. Tinting, at the wrong glass panels (again at the wrong panels) may also create qi distrubance leading to Sha Qi. It has to be done carefully. From top view: for the missing areas are there a distinction between this e.g. floor tiles that show an outline or is the external simply cement screeding. It has to be looked at carefully based on both Shapes and Forms / Flying Star / Ba Zi Feng Shui analysis The potted plants could instead be used to outline the missing corners. Please refer to the above Apologies, you may need to upload the files again. Avoid uploading large files e.g. in .bmp. But instead use .jpg format which is smaller. As we restrict too large a file upload and they will not pass thru. Frankly, it is very difficult to provide advise of this nature by `remote' control. Perhaps, you may seriously need to look at engaging a Feng Shui consultant instead. As mentioned, there are so many things issues that cannot be covered and it is difficult to give you reliable advise on just Shapes and Forms Feng Shui only. Please note that the above advise, is based on simply shapes and forms and have not even touched on Ba Zi, Ba Zi Feng Shui and Flying Star Feng Shui. Without the above, it is difficult to give proper advise. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Wasis, Please see below:- Yes, you can use another door. But it is also best that the house number be fixed on this door. Earlier, you had provided a layout plan of your home. It seems that in particular, one painting is on the same wall as the toilet bowl. Overall, the base Flying Star chart does not differ unless there is a change in Periods i.e. if the house is under Period 7 characteristics, overall, it will be almost the same chart for a period 7 house i.e. bad sectors are at East and South. Do you have any mirrors in the living room? And what are the external environment like ie. is your house on flat ground, what is behind your house and frontage? Since 2004 is coming, please e-mail us privately so that we can provide you with an additional Flying Star chart. It is best to look at whether Period 7 or Period 8 is much better choice. In such a situation, we can still minimize or reduce problems first. And if Period 8 chart is better, then can try to change it to a period 8 later on. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Kathy, 1. Priority is still to place the bed in the most favourable direction, first. Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui. 2. Is it possible for you to `shield' your husband i.e. if the sector is not as favorable to him, you sleep closer to it, while your husband sleeps further away. In my opinion, it is difficult to realistically try to focus on a location using exact compass degree. As there is fixed space within a bedroom. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Dear Nathalie, In majority of my audits of homes with too many mouths; the main consequence (so far) or the main issue is on the `children'. I.e. the children or ground adults, have difficulty marrying i.e. becoming bachelors or spinsters. For older persons, the only consequence is on finance if the front area is lined up directly with the back door or window. I.e. Qi flows directly from the front (in a straight line) to the back. If this can be avoided, this is ok. If your children are still young, then it is still not a major issue opening them in summer months. But if your children is of `dating/marriage' age, then, there is consequence of staying single. Warmest Regards, Cecil

Further to what I had mentioned, I also checked with some shops and according to the proprietor(s), next year's tong su (Tung Shu) is currently not available yet. The estimated time of arrival in Singapore is next month i.e. in the Chinese 7th month. In my opinion, you should not have a problem getting a copy after 9 August 2002. Warmest Regards, Cecil
